Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Production Engineer to join our growing Gearbox Manufacturing Plant in Moraiya. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end shop floor operations, managing machining processes, monitoring gearbox assembly, maintaining quality standards, and driving daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Production Planning & Execution:
- Plan, schedule, and execute daily production activities to meet targets safely and on time.
- Assign tasks to operators and technicians on the shop floor to maximize machine output.
- Machining & Process Oversight:
- Supervise key gear manufacturing operations including Lathe Machining, VMC/CNC, Gear Hobbing, Gear Shaping, Teeth Grinding, and Heat Treatment.
- Ensure proper tooling, fixture setup, and raw material availability before starting production runs.
- Quality Control & Precision Inspection:
- Perform in-process quality inspections for individual components (Gears, Shafts, Pinions, Housings) using precision instruments like Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Bore Gauges, and Gear Tooth Verniers.
- Interpret technical 2D/3D mechanical drawings, tolerances, and surface finish specifications to minimize rejection rates and rework.
- Gearbox Assembly & Testing:




- Oversee proper sub-assembly and final assembly of industrial gearboxes.
- Verify backlash, gear meshing, shaft alignment, and bearing fitments.
- Conduct no-load/load testing, noise checks, vibration analysis, and oil leakage tests.
- Shop Floor Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead, train, and manage shop floor workers, operators, and helpers.
- Enforce 5S methodology, Lean Manufacturing practices, and safety protocols across the production floor.
- Minimize machine downtime by coordinating preventive maintenance and fast-tracking breakdown repairs.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain Daily Production Reports (DPR), machine utilization logs, shift handovers, and rejection trackers for executive review.

Requirements & Essential Skills:
- Education: Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a gearbox manufacturing, gear cutting, or heavy machinery manufacturing setup.

- Technical Skills
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T; symbols.
- Practical knowledge of gear manufacturing techniques and machinery.
- Expertise in operating precision measuring tools.

- Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving, manpower handling, and leadership abilities.
- Languages: Good communication in Hindi and Gujarati.
