Reports To: Plant Manager / Production Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations at our fertilizer plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in chemistry or chemical engineering, with proven experience supervising production processes in a chemical or fertilizer manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient plant operations.
- Monitor manufacturing processes (granulation, mixing, drying, blending, bagging, etc.) to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Ensure production targets are met as per the daily/monthly production plan.
- Oversee shift operations and manage a team of plant operators, technicians, and helpers.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure raw materials and finished products meet required specifications.
- Identify and resolve process deviations, equipment malfunctions, or production bottlenecks promptly.
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and downtime/incident logs.
- Support preventive maintenance planning in coordination with the maintenance department.
- Train and mentor shop-floor staff on best practices, safety standards, and process improvements.




- Assist in implementing process optimization and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of raw materials and chemicals as per safety norms.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Education: M.Sc. in Chemistry OR B. Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering (mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in a fertilizer, chemical, or process manufacturing plant, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, reaction mechanisms, and fertilizer manufacturing methods (granulation, NPK blending, etc.).
- Working knowledge of plant safety standards, environmental compliance, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with production planning, shift management, and basic plant machinery/equipment operation.

- Effective communication and coordination skills across departments.
- Proficiency in MS Office/production reporting tools; ERP/SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.

Work Environment

- Plant/factory-based role; may require working in rotational shifts.
- Exposure to industrial chemical processing environment; adherence to PPE and safety guidelines is mandatory.
