EXPERIENCE 12-20 years; minimum 4-5 years leading production

QUALIFICATION BE/B.Tech or Diploma - Mechanical / Production Engineering JOINING Immediate or within 30 days preferred

Role objective HEAVY ENGINEERING | BADLAPUR-

Take complete responsibility for shop-floor production and deliver fabrication targets safely, efficiently and in accordance with drawings, quality requirements and project schedules.-

Translate monthly and weekly commitments into measurable daily targets for supervisors, work centres and fabrication bays.

- Own execution from material issue through fabrication, testing, painting and dispatch readiness. Core responsibilities - production execution
- Prepare and control daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on project priorities and committed inspection or dispatch dates.
- Plan material marking, cutting, plate rolling, forming, fit-up, welding, machining, assembly, NDT, hydrotesting, blasting, painting, packing and loading.
- Allocate welders, fitters, fabricators, helpers, supervisors, cranes, machines and bays according to the critical path

.- Ensure work starts only with approved drawings, correct materials, required traceability, BOMs, WPS and inspection requirements
- Monitor actual output by job, shift, supervisor and work centre; take recovery action where targets are missed.
- Identify production bottlenecks early and arrange alternate work fronts, job work,



additional shifts or subcontracting where justified. Fabrication and welding control
- Ensure correct fit-up, joint preparation, dimensions, orientation, tolerances and welding sequence.- Control SMAW, GTAW, GMAW/FCAW and SAW activities in accordance with approved WPS and qualified personnel.
- Ensure preheat, interpass temperature, consumable control, distortion control, weld identification and PWHT requirements are followed.
- Coordinate stage inspection, NDT, repair, hydrotest and final dimensional checks with QA/QC.- Prevent work from proceeding when drawings, traceability or mandatory inspection clearance is incomplete. Production Head - Heavy Fabrication Page 2 JOHN GALT INTERNATIONAL Resources, cost and discipline HEAVY ENGINEERING | BADLAPUR- Control material consumption, scrap, excess cutting, weld repairs, rework, gases, consumables, overtime and subcontracting costs.
- Monitor vendor and subcontractor output for quality, productivity and committed delivery.
- Ensure proper utilisation and upkeep of cranes, welding machines, rolling machines, compressors, tools and fixtures.
- Maintain safety, housekeeping, work permits, PPE compliance and workforce discipline throughout the shop. - Train and develop production engineers, supervisors, welders and fitters; remove dependency on individual workers.





Required experience and technical exposure- Hands-on heavy-fabrication experience in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, storage tanks, process skids or comparable static equipment.

- Experience with an ASME U-stamp pressure-equipment manufacturer is strongly preferred.

- Sound understanding of fabrication drawings, tolerances, plate development, rolling, forming, fit-up, welding, NDT, PWHT and hydrotesting.
- Ability to estimate manpower, machine hours, fabrication sequence and realistic completion time for a job.
- Ability to control shop-floor workers and contractors firmly, fairly and professionally.

- Candidates whose experience is limited to automotive assembly, maintenance, machining-only operations or light fabrication may not be suitable. Behavioural expectations- Maintains a strong physical presence on the shop floor and checks execution personally.

- Gives clear instructions, assigns ownership and verifies completion.

- Does not conceal delays or wait until a deadline to escalate constraints.

- Solves routine fabrication and manpower problems independently.

- Works with QA/QC as a production partner and never bypasses safety, traceability or mandatory inspections.

- A reliable employment history is essential; repeated job changes or unexplained short tenures will be viewed negatively.
