About the Company and Role The Wellness Shop, operated by Urbaine Consumer India Pvt. Ltd., is a fast-growing D2C brand across wellness, Ayurveda, beauty, and personal care, with operations in Jaipur and Bengaluru. We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end sourcing of Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), and Finished Goods (FG) from domestic, third-party, and international suppliers, while driving cost efficiency and managing the procurement team.

Key Responsibilities

1. International Sourcing and China Imports

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers from China and other international markets for finished products, packaging materials, beauty devices, and components.
- Coordinate with international suppliers on pricing, samples, specifications, certifications, and lead times.
- Oversee the complete import cycle, including Incoterms, LC/TT payments, pre-shipment inspection, freight, and customs clearance through CHAs.
- Manage HS code classification, duty calculation, and landed cost optimisation.
- Ensure imported products comply with Indian regulatory requirements (CDSCO, BIS, FSSAI, labelling norms).

2. Finished Goods Procurement (Third-Party / Private Label)

- Identify, audit, and onboard third-party and private label manufacturers for Ayurvedic capsules and tablets, juices and wellness beverages, skincare, haircare, personal care, herbal, and nutraceutical products.
- Evaluate manufacturers on capability, capacity, certifications (GMP, ISO, AYUSH, FSSAI, cosmetic manufacturing licence), and quality systems.
- Own the complete FG cycle: vendor identification, quotation, sampling, approval, commercial negotiation, PO, production, QC, dispatch, and receipt.
- Finalise supply agreements and monitor manufacturer performance on quality, cost, and timelines.

3. Raw Material Procurement





- Oversee procurement of raw materials for personal care, Ayurvedic, nutraceutical, and wellness products, including herbal extracts, oils, actives, powders, vitamins, minerals, preservatives, fragrances, and colours.
- Build a reliable supplier base for regular and new-product requirements.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, MOQs, and commercial terms.
- Ensure specifications, COA, samples, and approvals are aligned with Quality and R&D; teams.

4. Packaging Material Procurement

- Oversee procurement of bottles, jars, tubes, caps, pumps, droppers, labels, mono cartons, outer cartons, pouches, sachets, induction seals, shrink sleeves, and printed packaging.
- Ensure artwork, specifications, sampling, printing, and delivery timelines are met, especially for new launches.

5. Vendor Development and Management

- Build and maintain a strong domestic and international vendor network for RM, PM, and FG.
- Evaluate vendors on quality, price, MOQ, lead time, capacity, and reliability, and develop backup vendors for critical items.
- Conduct regular price benchmarking and market research.

6. Purchase Orders and Approvals

- Review and approve purchase orders as per business requirements and budgets.
- Monitor open POs, delivery performance, and escalations.
- Coordinate with Stores, Production, QC, R&D;, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.

7. Cost and Inventory Management

- Drive measurable cost reductions through negotiation and vendor consolidation.
- Plan procurement in line with production plans, inventory levels, and import lead times.
- Optimise MOQs and purchase quantities to avoid excess inventory and shortages.

8. Quality and Regulatory Compliance





- Ensure vendors provide COA, MSDS/SDS, specifications, test reports, and manufacturing licences.
- Work with QC/QA to resolve supplier quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Ayurvedic, cosmetic, nutraceutical, and food regulations (AYUSH, CDSCO, FSSAI).

9. Team Leadership and Reporting

- Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, including Procurement Executives.
- Present procurement MIS to leadership, covering spend, cost savings, landed cost, and vendor performance.

Required Experience

- 5+ years of procurement experience in Wellness or Beauty & Personal Care companies, preferably covering Ayurveda, Nutraceuticals, or Herbal products.
- Practical experience in sourcing RM, PM, and FG.
- Hands-on experience in international sourcing and China imports.
- Strong experience managing third-party / private label manufacturers.
- Experience leading a procurement team.
- Candidates with experience only in colour cosmetics (makeup) will not be considered.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should come from a Wellness or Beauty & Personal Care background, with solid knowledge of the skincare, haircare, Ayurvedic, or nutraceutical supplier ecosystem, an established network of manufacturers across India, and working relationships with suppliers in China.
