Key Responsibilities

Academic & Curriculum Leadership

- Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the I-CBSE academic programme.
- Ensure effective curriculum delivery aligned with CBSE requirements and school academic goals.
- Promote learner-centric, inquiry-based, competency-based, and experiential learning practices.
- Drive academic excellence and board examination readiness for Grades 10 and 12.
- Monitor student achievement, academic performance, and learning outcomes.
- Support the effective implementation of NEP 2020 and competency-based education practices.
- Review academic data and implement appropriate interventions and improvement strategies.

Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, motivate, and develop teaching and academic teams.
- Support recruitment, induction, performance evaluation, and professional development of educators.
- Build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing school culture.
- Conduct regular academic reviews, classroom observations, and performance discussions.
- Identify professional development needs and facilitate appropriate training opportunities.

Innovation & Cross-Programme Collaboration
- Collaborate with IB leadership and other academic teams to share effective teaching and learning practices.
- Support cross-programme initiatives, interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and educational technology.
- Encourage the adoption of contemporary teaching methodologies while maintaining curriculum alignment.
- Contribute to the continuous development of the school's academic vision and educational practices.

Student Development & Wellbeing




- Ensure students receive appropriate academic, pastoral, and developmental support.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, discipline, engagement, and overall wellbeing.
- Establish effective systems for identifying and addressing learning gaps.
- Promote a positive, safe, inclusive, and student-centred school environment.
- Support student leadership, co-curricular activities, and holistic development.

Parent & Community Engagement
- Build strong and professional relationships with parents and the wider school community.
- Lead Parent-Teacher Meetings, orientations, academic interactions, and feedback forums.
- Address parent concerns effectively and ensure timely communication.
- Represent the school professionally in relevant academic and community engagements.

Administration, Compliance & Operations
- Ensure compliance with applicable CBSE requirements, policies, and academic regulations.
- Oversee academic calendars, schedules, examinations, assessments, reporting, and documentation.
- Monitor effective implementation of school policies and academic systems.
- Work closely with administration and support teams to ensure smooth school operations.
- Leverage LMS, ERP, assessment platforms, and other educational technology systems to improve academic administration and communication.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

- M.Ed. / Master's degree in Education or a relevant subject, along with B.Ed.
- 10–12+ years of experience in CBSE schools or a comparable school education workplace.
- 3–5+ years of experience in a senior academic leadership role, such as:
- Principal
- Headmaster / Headmistress




- Vice Principal
- Academic Head
- Senior School Leader
- Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum, assessment, academic planning, and school operations.
- Good understanding of NEP 2020 and competency-based education.
- Proven experience in teacher leadership, academic monitoring, and school improvement.

Preferred
- Experience with IB, Cambridge, IGCSE, or other international curricula.
- Experience working in a dual-curriculum or international school environment.
- Exposure to curriculum integration and cross-programme academic initiatives.
- Familiarity with LMS, ERP, assessment platforms, and educational technology.
- Experience with school accreditation, quality assurance, or institutional improvement initiatives.
