Position Summary The Vice Principal Primary Segment is a senior academic leadership role responsible for the complete academic and operational oversight of Classes I to V. The role ensures high-quality curriculum implementation, teacher effectiveness, student learning outcomes, and overall primary school development.

The ideal candidate should have robust expertise in primary education, child development, and academic leadership, along with the ability to manage teachers, students, parents, and academic systems efficiently. This position works directly under the Principal and plays a key role in driving academic excellence across the Primary School.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership Primary School (Classes I-V)

Lead and supervise all academic operations for Classes I to V across all subjects.

Ensure effective implementation of CBSE curriculum and NEP 2020 guidelines.

Oversee academic planning, lesson scheduling, syllabus completion, and curriculum execution.

Promote competency-based, experiential, and activity-oriented learning practices.

Ensure consistency in teaching quality and academic delivery across all primary classes.

2. Teacher Leadership & Academic Supervision

- Lead and mentor all Primary School teachers including Mother Teachers and Subject

Teachers.

Conduct regular classroom observations and provide structured academic feedback.





Monitor lesson planning, teaching methodologies, and classroom engagement.

Organize teacher training programs, workshops, and professional development sessions.

Ensure accountability, discipline, and high performance among faculty members.

3. Student Academic Development

- Monitor student academic progress across all classes and subjects.

Ensure strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, communication, and environmental studies.

Identify slow learners and gifted students and design targeted intervention programs.

Oversee remedial classes, enrichment activities, and academic support systems.

Ensure continuous improvement in learning outcomes and academic performance.

4. Curriculum Planning & Execution

Ensure structured lesson planning and timely syllabus completion.

Integrate experiential learning, storytelling, activity-based teaching, and project work.

Maintain alignment with CBSE and NEP 2020 foundational and preparatory stage standards.

5. Assessment & Academic Evaluation

Ensure fairness, consistency, and transparency in evaluation practices.

6. Classroom Observation & Quality Assurance

Conduct regular academic audits and classroom observations across Primary School.

Evaluate teaching effectiveness using structured observation tools.





Provide actionable feedback for teacher improvement.

Ensure high levels of student engagement and effective learning practices.

Maintain academic discipline and quality standards across classrooms.

7. Parent Engagement & Communication

Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and orientation programs.

Share student progress updates, learning strategies, and improvement plans.

Build strong trust and transparent communication with parents.

8. Co-Curricular & Holistic Development

Oversee co-curricular activities including sports, arts, music, and cultural programs.

Encourage participation in competitions, exhibitions, and school events.

Promote holistic development through life skills, values, and personality development programs.

Ensure balanced academic and co-curricular exposure for students.

9. Operational & Administrative Management

Supervise daily operations of the Primary School segment.

10. Technology Integration & Innovation

Ensure age-appropriate integration of digital learning resources.

Required Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (mandatory).

B.Ed. (Primary Education / Elementary Education mandatory or as per school norms).

Diploma or certification in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / TTC / NTT preferred).

Additional qualification in Educational Leadership or School Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum8-12 years of teaching experience in CBSE schools.

At least 3-5 years of experience in academic leadership roles such as Coordinator / Head of Department / Academic Lead / Vice Principal.
