Domain Knowledge & Skills

BE/ME in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with 4 to 6 years of experience (candidates with up to 10 years of experience may also be considered) in powertrain systems (Transmission, Air Intake, Fuel, and Cooling Systems) and vehicle-level propulsion integration.

Robust exposure to manufacturing processes: Casting, Machining, Plastic Molding, and Sheet Metal design.

Proven experience in vehicle packaging and interface management across chassis, body, and electrical subsystems for propulsion components (engine, transmission, e-drive, battery, inverter, cooling systems).

Working knowledge of thermal management and NVH considerations as they relate to cooling, exhaust, and airflow routing with ability to collaborate cross-functionally with CAE and thermal teams.

Proficient in CAD software (typically CATIA V5/3DExperience) and Teamcenter PLM for release processes; strong hands-on modeling capability across Air Intake, Fuel, and Cooling system commodities.

Deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T; standards.

Experience with DMU (Digital Mock-Up) studies, clearance/interference checks, and static/dynamic simulation tools to validate design rule compliance.

Must have hands-on experience in CATIA V5/3DExperience.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional, and supplier teams.

Role Overview

We are looking for a versatile, highly skilled Powertrain Integration & Packaging Engineer to act as a core pillar of our offshore engineering team. This individual will bridge the gap between powertrain design (engines, motors, transmissions, batteries)



and the overall vehicle from early-stage concept design and advanced dimensional engineering to vehicle-level packaging, global stakeholder collaboration, and supplier management. The role ensures propulsion systems fit seamlessly into the chassis, meeting design rule requirements and performance targets by optimizing space, weight, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

Lead concept design studies for new product development, design enhancements for efficiency improvement, and provide design support from concept through production validation across Powertrain commodities (Engine, Transmission, Driveline, Air Intake, Cooling, Fuel, Exhaust, and Electrical systems).

Handle Powertrain Packaging in the vehicle environment; redesign Exhaust/Fuel systems per new Homologation requirements.

Develop packaging concepts for Powertrain commodities.

Develop and maintain 3D packaging of propulsion components (engine, transmission, e-drive, battery, inverter, and cooling systems) to ensure optimal fitment within the vehicle environment.

Dimensional Engineering

Independently perform complex GD&T; application, linear/radial/bolt stack-up analysis, and VSA (Variation Systems Analysis).

Packaging & DMU

Conduct robust DPA (Digital Pre-Assembly) clearance and interference checks of parts against surrounding environments relative to established OEM design rules.

Perform Digital Mock-Up (DMU) studies, clearance checks, and static/dynamic simulations to ensure design rule guidelines are met.

Release & Lifecycle Management

Drive the Engineering Change Management process, managing end-to-end 2D/3D CAD data releases as per engineering standards using CAD and PLM tools such as CATIA V5 & Teamcenter.

Supplier & OEM Collaboration

Interact with cross-functional global engineers to resolve technical issues.

Guide suppliers to deliver 3D/2D CAD models and drawings compliant with standards.
