Position Overview

We are looking for a Power BI Developer / BI Data Engineer with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in developing and supporting enterprise Business Intelligence and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI, SQL, DAX and Power Query.

The candidate will work on data and analytics initiatives for a leading banking client and should be capable of independently developing dashboards, building productive data models, writing and optimizing SQL queries, troubleshooting reporting/data issues, and supporting production BI solutions.

The role will work closely with Data Engineering teams and consume curated datasets from enterprise data platforms. The candidate should follow established standards around data security, data quality, access control and governance.

Location: Candidate must be presently staying in Bengaluru location.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, MIS reports and KPI scorecards.
- Translate business requirements into data models, KPIs, DAX measures and reporting solutions.
- Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns and Power Query transformations.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, joins, CTEs, views and stored procedures.
- Design efficient dimensional/star-schema data models for reporting and analytics.
- Integrate Power BI with SQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes and enterprise data platforms.




- Consume and validate datasets generated through Databricks, ADF and other ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Perform data reconciliation and quality checks between source, curated and reporting layers.
- Optimize Power BI datasets, reports and DAX for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, QA teams and business stakeholders.

Mandatory Skills Power BI | DAX | SQL | Power Query | Data Modelling | Power BI Service | RLS | Data Warehousing | ETL/ELT | Data Quality | Performance Optimization The candidate should have:

- 2-3 years of relevant Power BI/BI development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Strong knowledge of DAX and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Power Query/M.
- Strong understanding of fact/dimension modelling and star schemas.
- Experience with large datasets and Power BI performance optimization.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT and Data Warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data validation and reconciliation.
- Experience implementing RLS and managing report access.
- Knowledge of workspaces, publishing, gateways and refresh schedules.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Education & Experience Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience: 2-3 years in Power BI / Business Intelligence / Data Analytics development.
