Role Description The PLC & Manufacturing Automation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South. This role involves designing, programming, and commissioning PLC-based control systems for manufacturing and industrial automation projects. The engineer will work on integrating automation equipment, optimizing process control strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and reliability.

Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting control system issues, performing preventive maintenance, documenting configurations and changes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role also includes supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to creative automation solutions aligned with the company’s technology and sustainability goals.

About the Role





We are building an automated pin-bent detection system for heatsink assembly to enable zero-defect manufacturing. The role involves PLC/line integration, machine vision coordination, poka-yoke implementation, quality validation, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement PLC logic for camera triggering, OK/NOK signals, rejection and line-stop functions.
- Integrate vision systems using Digital I/O, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP or OPC UA.
- Implement fail-safe interlocks to prevent defective parts from moving forward.
- Define inspection criteria for bent, missing and incorrectly positioned pins.
- Work with the vision/AI engineer on sample collection, image capture and defect datasets.
- Conduct validation trials and measure detection rate, false rejects and missed defects.
- Maintain quality documentation, inspection specifications and validation reports.
- Analyse defects and lead RCA, 5-Why and 8D activities.
- Support POC, demonstrations, commissioning and operator training.

Required Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering.
- 2-4 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing or quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming — Siemens,



Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley or Omron.
- Experience integrating sensors, cameras or machine vision systems with PLCs.
- Knowledge of Poka-Yoke, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC and Gauge R&R.;
- Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Cognex, Keyence, Basler, Omron or similar vision systems.
- Experience in PCB assembly, heatsink, press-fit or soldering processes.
- Knowledge of machine safety and safety PLCs.
- Basic Python/SQL knowledge.
- Six Sigma certif

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Automation and Process Control for industrial and manufacturing environments.
- Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering knowledge relevant to control panels, wiring, and industrial power systems.
- Candidates should possess hands-on Troubleshooting skills for PLCs, sensors, actuators, and automation equipment.
- Candidates should possess experience with Robotics and related integration into automated production lines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
- Familiarity with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols and safety standards.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru South, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly in English.
- Experience in data-driven optimization, predictive maintenance, or AI-driven automation is a plus.
