Maintenance Manager – Automobile OEM

Location: Chakan, Pune – Work from Office

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in an automobile manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for ensuring high availability, reliability, and safe operation of mechanical and electrical equipment, minimizing equipment downtime, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance processes.

What You’ll Do

- Lead and manage preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for manufacturing and utility equipment.
- Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimum unplanned downtime to support production targets.
- Manage maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and utility systems used in automobile manufacturing.
- Plan and monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
- Analyze equipment breakdowns and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor and improve key maintenance metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, TACT Time, Lead Time, equipment availability, and downtime.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Ensure effective spare-parts management, including critical-spare identification, inventory planning, procurement coordination, and consumption monitoring.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of critical maintenance spares to avoid production losses due to non-availability.
- Coordinate with production, quality, projects, purchase, and other cross-functional teams for maintenance-related activities.
- Manage maintenance manpower, contractors, shift activities, and work allocation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, preventive maintenance procedures, SOPs, and statutory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and equipment reliability improvement.




- Prepare and review maintenance reports, equipment history, downtime analysis, and performance dashboards.
- Support installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement of new equipment and manufacturing lines.

Equipment / System Experience The candidate should have hands-on or managerial experience with maintenance of equipment commonly used in automobile manufacturing plants, including:

- DG Sets (Diesel Generators)
- Air Compressors
- Electrical Panels / MCC / PCC
- Transformers
- Slat Conveyors
- Pneumatic Nut Runners
- Electrical Stackers
- HVAC / Air Conditioning Systems
- Chiller Units
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Electrical and mechanical material-handling equipment
- Production-line equipment and associated utility systems

What You Bring

- 12–15 years of relevant experience in maintenance, preferably with an Automobile OEM / Automotive Manufacturing / Tier-1 manufacturing environment.
- B.Tech./B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Robust experience in managing maintenance teams and manufacturing-plant equipment.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle critical equipment breakdowns.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with production and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage maintenance activities against production requirements.
