Role Description This is a full time, Head Office Planning Engineer role based in Ranchi.

The Planning

Engineer will develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate with project managers and site teams, and ensure alignment of construction activities with project milestones. Daily tasks include preparing work breakdown structures, tracking progress, updating project timelines, and assisting in resource planning for labor, materials, and equipment. The role involves monitoring project performance, identifying delays or risks, and proposing corrective actions to keep projects on track.

The Planning

Engineer will also support reporting and documentation for stakeholders, assist in cost and time optimization, and contribute to continuous improvement of planning and project control processes.

KRA Involves

Project planning & scheduling

Daily/weekly/monthly progress monitoring

Target vs. achievement & delay analysis

Critical path & recovery planning

Manpower, machinery & material planning





Cost & budget monitoring

Billing/revenue coordination (not mandatory)

DPR, WPR, MPR & MIS reporting

- Coordination with Site, Purchase, Stores, Mechanical, Billing & Accounts teams

Qualifications

- Project planning and production planning skills, with the ability to develop and manage detailed construction schedules.
- Strong analytical skills and project control capabilities for monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing corrective measures.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders, and preparing transparent reports and presentations.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies and standards, specially in road projects.
- Proficiency with planning and scheduling software and MS Office tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline; relevant planning or project management certifications are an advantage.
- Ability to work in Ranchi, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced project environment.
- Understanding of safety regulations, quality control practices, and basic contract and tender documentation is beneficial.

- 5+ years relevant experience in Planning.
- Road project experience only.
- Strong Excel & planning/reporting skills.
- Valuable analytical & coordination skills.
