The Role in One LineLead sports and physical education at a growing boarding school — plan and run energetic, inclusive sessions, drive the school's sports culture and competitions, and help students grow in fitness, confidence, and character. As a resident on campus, you will also take on warden responsibilities as a secondary part of the role, helping guide and care for students in hostel life.

As our Sports / PE Teacher, you will own the sports and games life of the whole school — the daily energy on the field, the competitions students remember for years, and the confidence that comes from a child discovering what their body can do. What You Will Own (Responsibilities & Outcomes)Your primary role — Sports & Physical Education: Plan & prepare. Design a structured PE and sports programme with clear progression — not the same drills repeated, but sessions that build fitness and skill over time, adapted to different ages and ability levels.

Run great sessions. Deliver high-energy, safe, and inclusive PE and games periods where every student — the athletic and the shy — is active, included, and challenged.

Coach the modern way. Build discipline and effort through warmth, encouragement, and high standards — motivating students, not shouting them into shape. You set the tone for how sport feels at Plenum.

Track progress. Keep simple records of fitness and skill development, and give students feedback that helps them improve.

Drive sports culture. Own inter-house competitions, sports days, and games events. Make sport a source of school pride and belonging.

Grow yourself. Stay open to new coaching methods and training, and keep improving your own craft.

Your secondary role — Warden Responsibilities:

Hostel supervision & care. Support daily hostel routines, student discipline, safety, and pastoral care in line with Plenum's culture — helping students feel cared for and fairly treated.

Wellbeing & vigilance. Notice when students are unwell, anxious, or struggling,



and coordinate with the nurse, counsellor, and administration so no child slips through the cracks.

Attendance & safety. Keep accurate headcounts, ensure hostel security, and uphold routines calmly and fairly.

What good looks like: students are fitter, more confident, and genuinely enjoy sport; competitions run well and build school spirit; and the hostel is a safe, warm place where students trust you as a mentor.

Who We Are Looking For

- A qualification in Physical Education / Sports (B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed, a sports diploma, or equivalent) and/or robust demonstrated experience coaching sports.
- Roughly 1–4 years of experience teaching PE or coaching sports, ideally with school-age children. Warden or hostel experience is a plus but not essential.
- A modern, developmental coach — you build discipline and results through warmth, encouragement, and high standards, not through shouting or fear. This is essential to fit our culture.
- Energetic, organised, and able to plan sessions with real structure and progression.
- Warm and student-centred, with the maturity and patience to help care for a residential community of children as a warden.
- Willing to live on campus and be part of boarding-school life.

Remuneration & Perks

- Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month.
