Position OverviewAs a Partner Guide at Walk Another Mile, you will represent our brand on the ground and play a vital role in delivering exceptional experiences to our guests.

You will be responsible for accompanying guests during assigned tours, guiding them through destinations and experiences, sharing interesting stories and cultural insights, managing on-ground coordination, and ensuring that every guest feels welcomed, informed, and well cared for.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy meeting new people, exploring destinations, sharing stories, and creating memorable travel experiences.

This is an empanelment-based, contractual engagement and not a permanent salaried employment position. Guides will be assigned tour opportunities based on guest requirements, availability, suitability, and performance.

2. Tour Guiding & • Storytelling
- Lead guests through assigned tour routes, attractions, cultural sites, and experiences.
- Provide engaging explanations about local history, traditions, architecture, culture, and relevant points of interest.
- Share interesting anecdotes, lesser-known facts, and contextual stories wherever appropriate.
- Make the experience interactive, engaging, and enjoyable.




- Adapt storytelling and communication to suit different guest profiles and interests.

3. Tour Coordination & • Route Management
- Familiarise yourself with the assigned itinerary, route, meeting points, and inclusions before every assignment.
- Ensure smooth movement of guests between planned activities and destinations.
- Coordinate with drivers, vendors, coordinators, and other stakeholders when required.
- Manage time effectively and adhere to the planned itinerary.
- Remain flexible when minor adjustments are necessary due to crowds, weather, closures, or operational circumstances.

4. Crowd & • Situation Handling
- Assist guests in navigating crowded areas, queues, public spaces, and busy tourist attractions.
- Remain calm and composed during unexpected situations.
- Escalate operational issues to the designated Walk Another Mile coordinator promptly.
- Assist in maintaining group cohesion and guest safety.
- Exercise sound judgment while handling on-ground challenges.

5. Communication & • Reporting
- Maintain transparent and timely communication with the Walk Another Mile team.
- Provide updates regarding tour progress, guest requirements, and operational challenges.
- Report incidents, feedback, and relevant observations after assignments.
- Submit required post-tour feedback or activity reports.
- Maintain professional communication before, during, and after every assignment.

- Maintain appropriate grooming, attire, and personal conduct.
- Follow company guidelines regarding guest interaction, confidentiality, and service delivery.

Special Responsibilities During Kolkata Durga Puja ToursSelected Partner Guides may be assigned to our curated Kolkata Durga Puja Pandal Hopping Experiences.

Responsibilities may include





- Guiding guests through selected Durga Puja pandals and neighbourhoods.
- Sharing stories about Kolkata's Durga Puja traditions, history, artistry, and cultural significance.
- Assisting guests with navigating crowded streets and designated routes.
- Coordinating movement between pandals, meeting points, and vehicles.
- Helping guests understand local customs and festival etiquette.
- Managing time effectively during peak festival crowds.
- Supporting guests during street food walks and cultural experiences, where applicable.
- Ensuring the experience remains enjoyable, organised, and culturally respectful.

Prior knowledge of Kolkata's Durga Puja culture and popular pandals will be an advantage. Candidate ProfileWe welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about travel, hospitality, culture, and guest experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

- Minimum educational qualification: 12th pass; graduates are preferred.
- Students pursuing college or university education are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates from Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism, Travel, History, Mass Communication, or related backgrounds are welcome.
- Prior experience in tour guiding, hospitality, customer service, event management, or guest relations is an advantage but not mandatory.

Language RequirementsCandidates should be comfortable communicating in:
- Bengali – Preferred
- English – Preferred
- Hindi – Preferred
