Role Description The Optometrist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sanchore. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, diagnosis of common visual conditions, and prescription of glasses or contact lenses.

Daily responsibilities include assessing patient history, conducting clinical tests, documenting findings, and collaborating with ophthalmologists and other clinical staff on patient care plans. The role also involves educating patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options, as well as supporting pre- and post-operative assessments when required. The Optometrist is expected to maintain accurate records, follow clinical protocols,



and contribute to a positive and respectful care environment.

Qualifications

- Recognized degree or diploma in Optometry from an accredited institution; valid registration or eligibility to register with relevant professional bodies.
- Solid clinical skills in refraction, contact lens fitting, binocular vision assessment, and basic management of common ocular conditions.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., visual fields, fundus imaging) and work collaboratively with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain clinical findings and treatment plans clearly to patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Attention to detail, accurate clinical documentation skills, and adherence to infection control, safety, and ethical standards in patient care.
- Comfort working in a busy hospital environment, with strong time management, organizational skills, and commitment to continuous learning.
- Prior experience in a hospital or eye care clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory; familiarity with basic computer systems or electronic medical records is an advantage.
