We are looking for a Operations Support Engineer to support our Order & Risk Management System (ORMS) in a live trading environment. This is an operations-focused role involving real-time application monitoring, production issue investigation, log analysis, and SQL-based troubleshooting. The role works closely with internal technical teams and does not involve direct client handling.
This keeps the ORMS support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and internal collaboration focus from your attached JD while removing the client communication responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor ORMS applications and production systems to ensure smooth trading operations.
- Investigate and resolve production issues related to trade execution, system performance, database discrepancies, and API connectivity.
- Perform log analysis to identify root causes and implement workarounds where applicable.
- Execute SQL queries (MSSQL) for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Use monitoring and broker administration tools to track order and trade flow.
- Identify anomalies proactively through real-time system monitoring.
- Collaborate with Development and Infrastructure teams for bug fixes and major incident resolution.
- Maintain troubleshooting documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Utilize AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to assist with log analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting when appropriate.
Required Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, or Technical Operations.
- Good working knowledge of MSSQL (queries, joins, data validation, and analysis).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with application monitoring and log analysis.
- Basic understanding of APIs and production support processes.
- Good documentation and communication skills for internal collaboration.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts (24/7 support workplace).
Good to Have
- Exposure to ORMS or Order Management Systems.
- Knowledge of MongoDB.
- Familiarity with financial markets or trading platforms.
- Basic Linux commands.
- Experience with Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, or similar monitoring tools.
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge.
