Manipal Hospitals is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing In-Charge for our Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves overseeing daily operations in the emergency unit, managing nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and standards.
The Nursing
In-Charge will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive emergency care and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the nursing staff in the Emergency Department, ensuring optimal care delivery.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct staff training and performance evaluations to enhance team skills and capabilities.
- Monitor patient flow and resource allocation, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Facilitate communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Manage emergency situations effectively, making critical decisions to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to patient safety programs.
- Address patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Skills and Tools Required:
- Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing; Master?s Degree or relevant certification is an advantage.
- Valid nursing license and registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in an emergency setting.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficient in emergency care protocols, procedures, and advanced life support techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
