Designation: Recent Product Development Engineer – Machine Shop & Outsourcing

Location: Sumukh Steel Castings Pvt. Ltd.

1. Job Purpose

To manage and coordinate new product development activities related to casting machining and outsourced machining processes, ensuring timely development, quality, cost control, and successful production of new components.
1. Key Responsibilities

- Study customer drawings, specifications, machining requirements, and technical details for new products.
- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, Pattern, and Machine Shop teams for new product development.
- Prepare and follow up on machining requirements for newly developed castings.
- Identify suitable external vendors for outsourced machining and evaluate their capability as per company requirements.
- Send drawings, specifications, samples, and machining requirements to approved vendors.
- Obtain machining quotations from vendors and coordinate for cost comparison and approval.
- Follow up with vendors for machining development, tooling, fixtures, and process requirements.
- Coordinate for development of machining tools, fixtures, gauges, and other required accessories.
- Monitor outsourced machining progress and ensure timely completion as per development schedule.
- Conduct follow-up and inspection of first-off / trial machined components.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for dimensional inspection and correction of machining-related issues.
- Identify machining defects, dimensional deviations, and process-related problems and coordinate corrective actions with vendors.
- Coordinate with vendors for rework, modifications, and improvement in machining processes.
- Maintain records of new product development, machining trials, vendor quotations, inspection reports,



and development status.
- Support preparation and updating of process documents, machining specifications, and development reports.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for outsourced machining-related materials, tools, fixtures, and vendor requirements.
- Monitor vendor performance in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Development Support (QCD).
- Support cost reduction initiatives through process improvement, vendor development, and machining optimization.
- Ensure timely completion of new product development activities from trial stage to regular production.
- Participate in customer-related technical discussions and resolve machining-related development issues whenever required.
- Follow company safety, quality, 5S, discipline, and other applicable procedures.
- Perform any other engineering and new product development activities assigned by the management.

1. Qualification

Education: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

1. Experience

Overall Experience: 2–6 Years Relevant Experience: Experience in New Product Development, Machine Shop, Outsourcing, Vendor Development, or Machining Coordination.

Pay: ₹13,793.82 - ₹30,000.00 per month
