Senior Flutter Engineer – Scalable AI Applications

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Flutter Engineer to take ownership of the mobile engineering experience for our live, AI-powered healthcare platform.

Our platform is already in production and scaling. This role goes beyond building UI screens or implementing predefined features. We are looking for an engineer who can independently understand complex requirements, make sound architectural decisions, solve challenging technical problems, and build a mobile application that remains fast, reliable, maintainable, and scalable as usage grows.

You will work closely with AI, backend, product, and design teams to integrate LLMs, RAG pipelines, streaming AI responses, and real-time services into the mobile experience.

The ideal candidate combines strong Flutter expertise with a high degree of technical ownership and a problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of complex mobile features using Flutter and Dart.
- Design scalable Flutter application architecture with appropriate state management, modularization, dependency management, and reusable components.
- Build fast, responsive mobile experiences for real-time AI interactions and streaming responses.
- Integrate mobile applications with backend services through REST APIs and streaming APIs, with robust authentication, error handling, retries, and rate-limit handling.
- Work closely with AI engineers to integrate LLMs, AI APIs, RAG pipelines, AI-powered search, and other intelligent services into the mobile application.
- Design the mobile experience to support a growing number of concurrent users and real-time interactions.
- Implement productive caching, offline capabilities, background processing, synchronization, and network resilience.
- Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks across the application, network layer, API integrations, and device resources.
- Improve application performance, reliability, maintainability, observability, and stability.
- Take ownership of technical problems from initial investigation and root-cause analysis through production resolution.
- Manage iOS and Android releases, including build management, signing, versioning, App Store and Play Store submissions.
- Participate actively in architecture and technology decisions as the product and platform evolve.
- Establish and improve engineering practices around code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, monitoring, and release management.
- Monitor production application health and proactively identify potential scalability or reliability issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required.





Required Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of professional Flutter development experience, with experience building and shipping production-grade applications.
- Strong proficiency in Dart and Flutter.
- Strong understanding of modern Flutter architecture and state-management approaches such as BLoC, Riverpod, Provider, or equivalent patterns.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, modularization, and maintainable code structures.
- Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, asynchronous APIs, and streaming data.
- Experience building applications involving real-time interactions or high-frequency API communication.
- Strong understanding of mobile-specific scalability considerations including:
- Offline-first or intermittent-network handling
- Local caching and persistence
- Background processing
- Network resilience and retry strategies
- Memory and resource optimization
- Application startup and rendering performance
- Experience diagnosing and resolving production performance, stability, and reliability issues.
- Good understanding of automated testing, including unit, widget, and integration testing.
- Experience with Git-based development and modern software engineering practices.
- Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar technical problems, evaluate alternatives, and determine an appropriate implementation approach.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with AI, backend, product, QA, and design teams.

AI & Real-Time Application Experience The mobile application will interact extensively with AI-powered backend services. Candidates should be comfortable working with systems involving:
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- AI-powered search and conversational interfaces
- Streaming AI responses
- Real-time API interactions
- Long-running AI requests and asynchronous workflows
- Handling latency, retries, timeouts, and partial responses
- Secure handling of user and application data

Prior AI experience is beneficial, but strong Flutter engineers who can quickly understand and integrate complex backend services are also encouraged to apply.

- Experience implementing mobile CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with crash reporting, application monitoring, logging, analytics, and production observability.
- Knowledge of mobile application security and secure API integration.
- Experience optimizing Flutter applications for performance at scale.
- Experience working in a startup, product company, or rapidly scaling technology environment.
