Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹60,000 per month (depending on experience and skills)

About the Organisation

A.K. Institute of Ophthalmology – Eye & Retina Centre is a specialised eye care centre committed to providing quality ophthalmic healthcare services.

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Medical Store Manager to manage medical inventory, procurement, vendor coordination, and the timely availability of medicines and medical supplies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory & Stock Management

- Maintain accurate records of medicines, surgical consumables, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and stock movement to prevent shortages and overstocking.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) inventory management practices.
- Ensure proper storage and timely replenishment of stock.

2. Procurement & Vendor Management

- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely procurement of medicines and medical supplies.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and invoices.
- Follow up on pending orders, returns, damaged goods, and discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective purchasing.

3. Compliance & Quality Control

- Ensure medicines and medical supplies are stored as per applicable regulations and hospital policies.
- Monitor temperature, humidity, and storage conditions wherever required.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
- Ensure expired, damaged, or recalled medicines are identified, segregated, and handled as per applicable guidelines.

4. Team Management & Coordination





- Supervise medical store staff and allocate daily responsibilities.
- Coordinate with doctors, pharmacists, nursing staff, OT, and other departments.
- Ensure timely availability of medicines and surgical consumables for OPD, OT, and emergency requirements.
- Train staff and ensure compliance with hospital procedures.

5. Reporting & Administrative Responsibilities

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and consumption reports.
- Maintain purchase records, stock registers, invoices, and inventory software.
- Monitor stock consumption, wastage, and inventory discrepancies.
- Assist management in budgeting and inventory planning.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate in any discipline; a qualification in Pharmacy or Healthcare Management will be preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in medical stores, hospital pharmacy, or healthcare inventory management.
- Experience in managing medicines, surgical consumables, and medical supplies.
- Knowledge of inventory management, FIFO/FEFO, and stock reconciliation.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with inventory management software or hospital ERP.
- Good communication, coordination, organisational, and team management skills.

Preferred Candidate
- Experience in an eye hospital, ophthalmology centre, or multispecialty hospital.
- Ability to manage multiple departments and ensure uninterrupted availability of essential supplies.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and capable of maintaining accurate inventory records.
