Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities

- Evaluate and diagnose patients with suspected or confirmed cancer.

- Review patient history, laboratory investigations, pathology reports, imaging, and biopsy results.

- Develop individualized treatment plans based on cancer type, stage, and patient condition.

- Prescribe and supervise:

- Chemotherapy

- Immunotherapy

- Targeted Therapy

- Hormonal Therapy

- Palliative and Supportive Care

- Monitor patient response to treatment and modify plans when required.

- Manage side effects and complications related to cancer therapy.

- Provide follow-up care and long-term monitoring.

Procedures and Patient Care

- Conduct OPD consultations and inpatient rounds.

- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, risks, and expected outcomes.

- Coordinate multidisciplinary tumor board discussions.

- Refer patients for surgery, radiation therapy, or other specialties when required.





- Manage emergency oncology situations such as:

- Febrile neutropenia

- Tumor lysis syndrome

- Spinal cord compression

- Hypercalcemia

- Severe chemotherapy reactions

Documentation and Administration

- Maintain complete and accurate medical records.

- Document diagnosis, treatment protocols, consent, and progress notes.

- Ensure proper chemotherapy protocols and patient safety standards are followed.

- Participate in departmental audits, NABH documentation, and quality initiatives.

- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.

Qualifications

- MBBS with MD DNB in General Medicine, Radiation Oncology, or Pediatrics.

- DM DrNB in Medical Oncology.

- Valid medical registration with the National Medical Commission State Medical Council.
