JOB SUMMARY:

As a Mechanical Engineer , you will drive the physical assembly, structural alignment, and fluidic integration of spacecraft inside our cleanroom environments. You will be hands-on with flight-critical hardware, translating 3D CAD models, tolerance stacks, and interface control drawings into fully assembled, launch-ready satellites.

In this role, your core ownership spans the mechanical lifecycle: honeycomb panel installation, payload and propulsion subsystem integration, and leak-tight fluidic assemblies. Your precision directly dictates structural integrity, mass margins, and zero-defect readiness under severe launch vibration and orbital thermal cycles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Blueprint & Tolerance Execution: Interpret 3D structural CAD models, detailed fabrication drawings, GD&T; specifications, and tolerance stack-up analyses to guide physical builds.
- Spacecraft Structural Assembly: Execute structural integration on primary and secondary satellite structures, machined aerospace alloys, and carbon-fiber/aluminum honeycomb panels.




- Fluidic & Propulsion Integration: Handle, route, and mount propellant and pressurant plumbing lines, pressure vessels (gas tanks), and electromechanical fluid valves, supporting clean TIG welding interfaces.
- Quality Assurance & NDT Coordination: Partner closely with quality assurance teams to support non-destructive testing (NDT), portable X-ray inspections, dye-penetrant checks, and joint integrity verifications.
- Fastener & Torquing Protocols: Apply precise torque specs, locking mechanisms, and space-grade structural adhesives/staking compounds in strict compliance with cleanroom assembly procedures.
- Documentation & Traceability: Maintain meticulous mechanical assembly logs, bolt torque matrices, mass property tracking, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience: 2+ years (open to ambitious early-career engineers and seasoned aerospace integration specialists).
- Solid ability to read mechanical engineering drawings, assembly exploded views, and GD&T; symbols.
- Working knowledge of precision hand tools, torque wrenches, alignment fixtures, and mechanical measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
- Exposure to metallic alloys (Titanium, Inconel, Al 6061/7075) and composite/honeycomb sandwich structures.
- High attention to detail, manual dexterity, and adherence to cleanroom (ISO Class standards) protocols.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

- Hands-on experience in satellite mechanical AIT, aircraft structural assembly, or defense propulsion systems.
- Direct exposure to spacecraft propulsion plumbing, orbital TIG welding interfaces, or pressure proof/leak testing (helium mass spectrometry).
- Familiarity with space industry structural standards (such as ECSS-E-ST-32C or NASA mechanical standards).
- Experience with 3D CAD platforms (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) and metrology equipment (laser trackers, coordinate measuring machines/CMM, or optical alignment tools).
