Role Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the development of our medical device. The role involves translating clinical requirements into mechanical designs, developing and testing prototypes, ensuring compliance with relevant medical device standards, and driving the product toward manufacturing readiness.

Key Responsibilities Product Architecture & Mechanical Design

- Define and develop the mechanical architecture of the product based on functional and user requirements.
- Conceptualize mechanisms, assemblies, and system integration solutions to meet performance specifications.
- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and engineering trade-off studies.
- Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Support compliance with applicable medical device standards and regulatory requirements.

Prototyping & Development

- Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings
- Design, build, and iterate functional prototypes.
- Collaborate closely with electronics, software, and industrial design teams.

Required Skills & Knowledge





- Robust fundamentals in mechanical design, precision mechanisms and machine elements.
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, or equivalent).
- ANSYS for engineering simulation and analysis.
- Material selection, Manufacturing processes and DFM principles.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience developing medical devices or regulated products.
- Familiarity with IEC 60601, ISO 10993, ISO 14971, QMS considerations.
- Prototyping methods (3D printing, machining, sheet metal, rapid prototyping).
- Basic knowledge of fluid dynamics and precision motion systems.

Education

- B.Tech / M.Tech / equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Product Design or a related engineering discipline.
- Candidates from other technical or design backgrounds with strong hands-on experience in mechanical product development, CAD, engineering analysis, prototyping, and medical device development may also be considered.
