Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager / Up to Manager to lead mechanical maintenance operations at a tyre manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment availability, minimizing downtime, improving machine reliability, and managing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance Management

- Lead and supervise all mechanical maintenance activities across the plant.
- Ensure optimum performance and reliability of production machinery.
- Plan and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.

2. Equipment Reliability & Uptime

- Monitor equipment performance and minimize machine downtime.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Drive initiatives for improved machine reliability and efficiency.

3. Breakdown & Preventive Maintenance

- Ensure timely execution of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures.
- Maintain machine history and maintenance records.

4. Team Management

- Lead, guide, and supervise maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Allocate manpower and resources effectively.
- Conduct training and skill-development programs for the maintenance team.

5. Shutdown & Project Execution

- Plan and execute plant shutdown maintenance activities.
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgradation of machinery.




- Coordinate with Production and other departments for smooth maintenance operations.

6. Spare Parts & Inventory

- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels and control maintenance costs.

7. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and statutory requirements.
- Promote safe working practices within the maintenance team.
- Participate in safety audits and improvement initiatives.

8. Budget & Cost Control

- Monitor maintenance expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support preparation and control of annual maintenance budgets.

9. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain maintenance reports, SOPs, inspection records, and equipment history.
- Prepare and present maintenance performance reports to senior management.

Candidate Requirements
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidates from Tyre, Rubber, Automotive, or Process Industries will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Rotating Equipment
- Conveyors
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Hydraulics & Pneumatics
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Breakdown Maintenance
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP and MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
- Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
