- Prepare detailed cost sheets covering raw materials, labour, overheads, and other direct/indirect costs.
- Develop and maintain standard costing systems.
- Support pricing decisions with accurate cost analysis.
- Review BOM and routing data for cost accuracy.
2. Variance Analysis
- Analyze material, labour, and overhead variances (standard vs actual).
- Identify reasons for deviations and recommend corrective actions.
- Present variance reports with financial impact analysis.
3. Inventory & Consumption Control
- Monitor material consumption trends and wastage levels.
- Reconcile physical stock with book records.
- Control slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure proper valuation of inventory as per accounting standards.
4. Cost Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly cost MIS and management reports.
- Provide product-wise, order-wise, and department-wise profitability reports.
- Support monthly and annual financial closing activities.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, SCM, Merchandising, and Finance teams.
- Provide cost impact analysis for recent products and process changes.
- Support management in budgeting and forecasting exercises.
Preferred candidate profile
- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) / B.Com
- 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing costing
- Experience in ERP-based costing systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), BOM, and process costing principles
