We are looking for a Mainframe Test Engineer with experience in testing applications running on IBM mainframe environments. The candidate should be comfortable with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS and have hands-on experience with functional, integration, regression, and batch testing.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare test scenarios/cases.

- Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and batch testing.

- Test mainframe applications involving COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.

- Validate batch jobs, job streams, return codes, datasets, and output files.

- Write and execute SQL queries for DB2 data validation.

- Perform backend/database validation and reconciliation.

- Validate input/output files and reports.

- Analyze abends and job failures and coordinate with development teams for resolution.

- Log, track, and retest defects using tools such as JIRA/ALM.

- Participate in test planning, test execution, defect triage,



and release validation.

- Support production validation and post-release testing when required.

- Prepare test execution reports and maintain testing documentation.

- Mainframe testing experience.

- TSO/ISPF

- Mainframe batch processing and job monitoring.

- Knowledge of file formats such as sequential files and GDGs.

- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.

- Defect management tools such as JIRA/ALM.

Positive to Have

- Experience with Endevor/Changeman.

- Knowledge of CA7 or other scheduling tools.

- Experience with ETL/data migration testing.

- Automation experience using tools/scripts where applicable.

- Agile/Scrum experience.

- Experience in banking, insurance, or financial-services applications.
