​Position: Lithotripsy Technician

Department: Urology & Lithotripsy Unit

​Alam Hospital & Research Centre is seeking an experienced and skilled Lithotripsy Technician to manage non-invasive kidney stone treatment procedures (ESWL) and support our Urology department.

​Key Responsibilities

​Procedure Execution: Assist Consultant Urologists in performing Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) procedures for kidney and ureteral stones.

​Patient Preparation & Care: Prepare patients for procedures, position them accurately using ultrasound/fluoroscopy guidance, and monitor vital signs during treatment.

​Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and maintain Lithotripter machines, C-arm units, and associated imaging systems.

​Sterilization & Safety: Ensure radiation safety protocols, equipment sterilization, and proper room hygiene in compliance with hospital standards.

​Documentation & Coordination: Maintain detailed logs of patient treatment parameters, machine maintenance, and coordinate post-procedure recovery with nursing staff.

​Qualifications & Requirements

​Education:



Diploma or B.Sc in Medical Imaging Technology / Radiology Technology / Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT).

​Experience: 2–5+ years of hands-on experience operating ESWL / Lithotripsy equipment in a reputable hospital or urology center.

​Skills: Proficiency in C-arm/Fluoroscopy alignment, basic ultrasound imaging for stone localization, and patient monitoring during shock wave therapy.
