We are looking for a Lead Mainframe Software Engineer to lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Mainframe applications within the CBSS, CRD environment. The role will involve providing technical leadership across Mainframe application development, supporting both batch and online processing systems, and ensuring the successful delivery of application changes.

The Lead Mainframe Software Engineer will be responsible for performing impact analysis, guiding code modifications, supporting testing activities, and analyzing and resolving production incidents. The role will require collaboration with distributed teams and architects, participation in Mainframe modernization initiatives, and contribution to automation, DevOps, migration, and integration activities involving modern technologies.

Your future duties and responsibilities

- Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Mainframe applications.
- Perform and guide impact analysis to assess the effect of application changes across Mainframe systems.
- Review and guide code modifications to ensure application changes meet technical requirements.
- Design and execute unit and integration testing for application changes.
- Analyze production incidents, identify root causes, and drive appropriate resolutions.
- Lead technical support for batch and online processing systems.
- Collaborate with distributed teams and architects to deliver Mainframe application solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to team members on Mainframe application development and support activities.
- Participate in Mainframe modernization initiatives and contribute to the implementation of modernization solutions.




- Implement and promote automation and DevOps practices where applicable.
- Support migration activities and integration of Mainframe applications with modern technologies.
- Coordinate technical activities across development, testing, production support, and integration areas.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role Must-Have Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
- Strong working knowledge of REXX.
- Hands-on experience with Endevor/Changeman and File-Aid.
- Strong knowledge of IBM Mainframe utilities.
- Experience working with Mainframe batch and online processing systems.
- Strong experience in impact analysis, code modification, testing, and production incident resolution.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and collaborate with distributed teams and architects.

Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience leading or contributing to Mainframe modernization initiatives.
- Exposure to APIs and integration with Mainframe applications.
- Exposure to hybrid architecture.
- Experience with automation and DevOps practices in a Mainframe environment.
- Exposure to migration and integration with up-to-date technologies.
