We are looking for Python Lead Developer with a strong background in accounting and financial systems. You will build secure, scalable backend services and integrate complex financial data flows. You need at least 6 years of software development experience and a deep understanding of automated reconciliation, invoice extraction, and compliance-driven GST integrations.

Responsibilities

- Design and Build: Develop robust APIs and backend services using Python and frameworks like Django or FastAPI.

- GST Integration: Build and maintain API integrations with national tax portals (e.g., GSTN) or regional tax computation engines to automate GST filing, e-invoicing, and real-time tax calculation.

- Invoice Parsing: Build and maintain automated data extraction pipelines using OCR or AI-driven tools to process incoming invoices and map specific line items to their respective GST slabs.

- Ledger Reconciliation: Program complex matching algorithms to automate financial reconciliation across internal ledgers, banking data, and external tax credit data (e.g., matching GST returns).

- Financial Integration: Integrate software with accounting platforms (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite) and map transactional entries accurately against the Chart of Accounts (CoA).

- Database Design:



Design effective database schemas using PostgreSQL or MySQL to handle secure, double-entry bookkeeping records alongside complex tax breakdowns.

Requirements

- Experience: 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.

- Python Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Python, asynchronous programming, and web frameworks (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).

- Tax & Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of core accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and handling multi-tier tax structures like GST (including tax codes, slabs, and e-invoice mandates).

- Automated Accounting: Direct experience developing backend workflows for ledger reconciliation and automated transaction matching.

- Data Processing: Experience building ETL processes or document intelligence models for invoice parsing and data extraction.

- Databases: Strong SQL skills with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization.

Preferred Skills:

- Direct experience integrating with the India GSTN portal APIs or global equivalents (like Avalara or Vertex).

- Experience with specialized document AI tools (e.g., AWS Textract, Google Document AI).
