Role & responsibilities

Role Objective -

The Lead Production & Design will be responsible for leading end-to-end product development, sampling, production coordination, quality, material development, and production room management, supplier and factory coordination for sunglasses and optical frames.

The role will ensure that new collections are developed and produced in line with market trends, quality standards, commercial requirements, cost targets, and agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and product development of sunglasses and optical frames from concept to final production.
- Research domestic and international eyewear trends, shapes, colours, materials, finishes, and competitor collections.
- Coordinate with designers, factories, suppliers, Production, Planning and Procurement teams for sample development and production execution.
- Manage the complete development cycle: Concept Sample Modification Approval Production Final Product.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of approved products.
- Source and upkeep new lenses, sheets, frame materials, components, finishes, and other product-development materials.
- Evaluate suppliers and factories on quality, capability, costing, lead time and delivery performance.
- Conduct purchase/pre-production quality checks to ensure products match approved specifications and samples.
- Identify quality deviations and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and factories.




- Maintain proper records of approved samples, rejected samples, materials, prototypes and products under development for last 5-7 years.
- Analyse product performance, market feedback and trends to support improvement of future collections.
- Identify cost optimisation and value-engineering opportunities without compromising product quality or aesthetics.
- Maintain development and production trackers, sample status, rejection reports and supplier performance reports.
- Take complete ownership of the Design Team and Design Room, including work allocation, timelines, sample organisation and team productivity.
- Guide and mentor designers while ensuring timely delivery of design and product-development projects.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Planning, Procurement, Production and Quality teams to ensure smooth product launches.
