Laparoscopic Instrument Technician – Operation Theatre (OT)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Laparoscopic Instrument Technician to join our Operation Theatre team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, handling, maintaining, sterilizing, and ensuring the availability of laparoscopic and other OT instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare laparoscopic instruments, equipment, and OT supplies before procedures.
- Assist the surgical and OT team with the availability and handling of instruments during surgeries.
- Check laparoscopic instruments and equipment for proper functioning before and after procedures.
- Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, packing, and sterilization of instruments as per hospital protocols.
- Maintain proper inventory of laparoscopic instruments, surgical sets, and OT consumables.
- Coordinate with the CSSD/sterilization department for instrument sterilization and availability.
- Handle instruments carefully and report any damage, malfunction, or shortage to the concerned supervisor.




- Maintain proper documentation and records of instruments and sterilization procedures.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and hospital protocols at all times.
- Support the OT team in maintaining cleanliness, readiness, and smooth workflow.

Eligibility & Skills
- Diploma/B.Sc/Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT), Surgical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in an OT, preferably with laparoscopic procedures, is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of surgical and laparoscopic instruments.
- Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical/OT team.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including emergency duties when required.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
