Language Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Language Expert to join our Vernacular Team. As a Language Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate language usage across our vernacular platforms and content. Your expertise will play a vital role in helping us effectively communicate and engage with our diverse user base.

The ideal candidate is fluent in the target vernacular language, possesses exceptional language skills, and demonstrates a deep understanding of cultural nuances.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate language usage across our vernacular platforms, including written content, user interfaces, and communication channels.
- Collaborate closely with the Vernacular Team to develop language guidelines, glossaries, and style guides to maintain consistency and quality in all vernacular communications.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of language trends, colloquialisms, and regional variations to ensure accurate translations and localization.
- Translate and adapt content from English or other source languages into the target vernacular language, ensuring clarity, tone, and message integrity.
- Proofread and edit vernacular content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors.
- Provide linguistic support and guidance to internal stakeholders, including content creators, designers, and product managers, to ensure a culturally sensitive and engaging user experience.
- Stay updated on language-related developments, industry trends, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance language capabilities and processes.
- Collaborate with external vendors, translators,



or linguistic experts as needed for specialized projects or to support language-related initiatives.
- Contribute to the improvement of translation tools, processes, and workflows to optimize efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Communications, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Native or near-native fluency in the target vernacular language, with exceptional language skills and an in-depth understanding of its grammar, syntax, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances.
- Strong command of English or other source languages to effectively translate and adapt content.
- Proven experience as a translator, language expert, or in a similar role, with a track record of delivering high-quality language services.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with translation and localization tools and software is preferred.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify and address language-related issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Cultural sensitivity and a deep understanding of regional language variations and audience preferences.
- Passion for languages, continuous learning, and keeping up with language-related trends and developments.
