Role Description This is an on-site role for an Intern Biostatistician. The intern will support the design and analysis of health-related studies by applying statistical methods to real-world and clinical data. Day-to-day tasks include co-ordinating data collection from various departments of Manipal University's hospital divisions, regularly meet with department heads, data owners, collecting and cleaning and health/medical datasets, running statistical analyses, generating visualizations, co-ordinate regulatory documentation, and submissions, co-ordinate data collection, application development with Manipal team, company's management, engineers and assisting in the interpretation of results under the guidance of senior team members.





The role may also involve contributing to technical documentation, reports, and presentations that communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The intern will collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, and engineers to help develop AI-driven health solutions while gaining exposure to practical applications of biostatistics.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Statistics and Survival Analysis, with the ability to apply appropriate methods to health-related data.
- Competence in Statistical Programming using tools such as Python, healthcare/ Life Sciences Ontology, and experience working with Statistical Software.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills, including problem-solving, data interpretation, and attention to detail.
- Recent completion of a degree program in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Familiarity with health or clinical data and basic understanding of study design and research principles is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
- Interest in AI and Health Tech, with a willingness to learn new tools, methods, and domain knowledge.
