**About the role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Car Inspection Engineer to conduct comprehensive inspections of used cars sourced through dealer partners. The role is responsible for accurately assessing a vehicle’s mechanical condition, body condition,

structural integrity, and overall quality, while ensuring standardized inspection processes and transparent reporting.

What You Will Do

- Conduct detailed physical inspections of used cars at dealer locations, customer locations, yards, and designated inspection centers.
- Assess key vehicle systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, tyres, steering, electrical systems, AC, and other mechanical components.
- Inspect the exterior and interior condition of vehicles, including body panels, paint quality, dents, scratches, accidental repairs, and signs of structural damage.
- Identify critical vehicle issues such as flood damage, major accidents, odometer tampering, structural damage, and significant mechanical defects.
- Conduct road tests to evaluate vehicle performance, drivability, handling, braking, and overall condition.
- Verify VIN/chassis number, engine number, registration details, and other relevant vehicle documents.
- Use diagnostic tools, inspection equipment, mobile applications, and digital platforms to conduct standardized vehicle assessments.
- Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports with photographs, observations, identified defects, and recommendations.
- Identify approximate refurbishment/repair costs and clearly highlight major repairs or quality concerns.
- Complete inspections and reports within defined Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Clearly communicate critical defects, major repairs, and vehicle quality concerns to internal teams and dealer stakeholders
- Follow defined inspection SOPs, checklists, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure data quality on the inspection platform/mobile application.




- Identify recurring vehicle quality issues and provide actionable feedback to improve inspection processes, standards, and quality controls.

What we are looking for:
- ITI, Diploma, or Graduate qualification in Automobile Engineering.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience as an Automobile Evaluator, Mechanic, Service Advisor, Assistant Service Advisor, or similar role.
- Experience working with passenger vehicles and strong understanding of automotive systems and components.
- Strong multi-brand vehicle technical knowledge.
- Ability to identify accidental damage, mechanical defects, structural issues, and major repair requirements.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostic tools and inspection applications will be preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent observation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and unbiased inspection reports.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and digital inspection platforms.
- Willingness to travel extensively for vehicle inspections.
- Valid driving licence and practical driving skills preferred.
