About The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced HR Payroll Professional to join our team at Kyndryl India. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payroll processing across our organization, with a specific focus on Japan payroll operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of payroll systems, government regulations, and employment laws pertinent to Japan.

You will serve as the key liaison between employees, management, and third-party payroll vendors, ensuring seamless communication and process execution. Additionally, you will lead initiatives related to payroll system implementations and upgrades, contributing to the continuous improvement of our payroll infrastructure. Your expertise will help uphold our commitment to employee satisfaction and legal compliance, making this an exciting chance for a dedicated payroll specialist eager to make a significant impact in a global setting.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have over 7 years of comprehensive HR payroll experience, with at least 3 to 5 years dedicated to Japan payroll processing. A strong understanding of payroll and accounting processes is essential, along with proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite.



Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and management levels.

Knowledge of employment law, regulatory compliance, and specific experience handling social insurance, labor insurance, and resident tax in Japan is required. Fluency in Japanese, equivalent to JLPT N2 or N1, is necessary for seamless interaction with Japan-based HR stakeholders. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Human Resources is preferred, along with prior experience in similar roles and familiarity with other HR functions such as compensation, benefits, and talent acquisition.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Japan, ensuring accurate calculation and timely disbursement of employee wages in compliance with local laws and company policies. Interpret and apply various pay policies, including vacation days, leaves of absence, disability, workers' compensation, and union contracts, ensuring accurate reflection in payroll systems. Collaborate closely with HR, finance, and third-party vendors to facilitate payroll system implementations, upgrades, and troubleshooting, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance and proactive adjustments to payroll processes. Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management, providing clear and professional communication. Handle the offboarding process, coordinating with internal teams,



labor unions, and former employees to ensure smooth transitions and accurate offboarding documentation.

Monitor payroll data for accuracy, resolve discrepancies promptly, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Prepare payroll reports and documentation for audits, management review, and regulatory compliance purposes. Stay informed about changes in employment laws and payroll regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant with all legal requirements.
