JOB PURPOSE To oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel and ensure smooth, efficient and profitable functioning of all operational departments. The Hotel Manager is responsible for maintaining service standards, guest satisfaction, employee performance, operational controls and compliance while supporting the achievement of the hotel's financial and business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Hotel Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel and ensure smooth functioning of all departments.
- Ensure all departments operate in accordance with company policies, SOPs and service standards.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure effective operational planning and execution.
- Monitor operational performance and address issues promptly.
- Ensure proper coordination between Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B;, Engineering, Security and other departments.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service and overall hotel presentation.
1. Guest Experience & Satisfaction
- Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction throughout the guest journey.
- Monitor guest feedback, online reviews and complaints.
- Personally attend to VIP guests and escalated guest concerns when required.
- Ensure guest complaints are resolved promptly and professionally.
- Develop initiatives to improve guest experience and service quality.
- Monitor hotel reputation and take corrective action based on guest feedback.
1. Financial & Business Performance
- Support the General Manager in achieving the hotel's financial targets.
- Monitor departmental revenues, expenses and operational costs.
- Ensure effective cost control without compromising guest experience or service standards.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and other key hotel performance indicators.
- Review departmental budgets and identify areas for operational efficiency.
- Work closely with Finance to monitor revenue, expenses, outstanding payments and financial controls.
1. Food & Beverage Operations
- Oversee the operational performance of restaurants, banquets and other F&B; outlets.
- Ensure food quality, service standards, hygiene and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor F&B; revenue, cost controls and outlet performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with the F&B; team on promotions, events and business opportunities.
1. People Management
- Lead, guide and motivate department heads and operational teams.
- Monitor employee performance, discipline, grooming and attendance.
- Identify training and development requirements.
- Ensure adequate manpower deployment based on business requirements.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and retention of employees.
- Conduct regular meetings with department heads and review departmental performance.
- Build a positive and service-oriented workplace culture.
1. Quality & Service Standards
- Ensure implementation of company SOPs and operational standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, back-of-house areas and other hotel facilities.
- Monitor hygiene, cleanliness, grooming and service standards.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented within defined timelines.
- Coordinate internal audits and quality inspections.
1. Sales & Revenue Support
- Support the Sales team in generating business and achieving revenue targets.
- Maintain relationships with key corporate clients, travel partners and local business accounts.
- Participate in client meetings, property visits and business development activities when required.
- Identify opportunities for increasing room, F&B;, banquet and ancillary revenue.
- Support the implementation of revenue and promotional strategies.
1. Compliance & Statutory Requirements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, legal, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure hotel licences, permits and statutory documentation are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, food safety, labour and health & safety requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant departments for audits and inspections.
- Ensure all operational records and documentation are maintained properly.
1. Safety & Security
- Ensure effective implementation of hotel safety and security procedures.
- Conduct regular checks of fire safety, emergency procedures and security systems.
- Ensure employees are trained on emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Coordinate with Security and Engineering teams regarding safety-related matters.
- Ensure incidents are reported and addressed appropriately.
1. Maintenance & Asset Management
- Coordinate with Engineering to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure guest rooms, public areas, equipment and facilities are maintained properly.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure proper utilisation and protection of hotel assets.
- Report major maintenance and capital expenditure requirements to management.
1. MIS & Reporting
- Review daily operational reports and hotel performance.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, revenue and departmental performance.
- Submit required operational reports and updates to management.
- Analyse operational challenges and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct regular departmental performance reviews.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Hotel revenue and profitability.
- Occupancy, ADR and RevPAR performance.
- Guest satisfaction and online reputation.
- Operational efficiency and cost control.
- F&B; revenue and outlet performance.

QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management.
- MBA or relevant management qualification will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- 8–12 years of experience in the hotel industry.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory/management role.
- Experience in handling hotel operations across multiple departments is preferred.
- Experience in full-service hotels, business hotels or hotel chains will be an advantage.

ROLE EXPECTATION The Hotel Manager is expected to act as a key operational leader of the property, ensuring smooth hotel operations, excellent guest experience, effective people management, strong financial discipline, compliance and consistent adherence to company standards while supporting the General Manager in achieving the overall objectives of the hotel. Pay: From ₹80,000.00 per month
