Role Description The Hotel & Hospitality Management Faculty role is a full-time, on-site position based at the SBIHM campuses in Kolkata. The faculty member will design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in hotel and hospitality management, ensuring alignment with academic standards and industry practices.

Responsibilities include preparing course materials, assessing student performance, guiding projects and internships, and providing academic advising and mentorship. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, participating in faculty meetings and institutional initiatives,



and contributing to industry outreach, seminars, and workshops. The faculty member is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospitality trends to integrate real-world insights into the classroom.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service and guest relations skills relevant to hotel and hospitality operations.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and basic financial management within hospitality settings.
- Knowledge of sales, marketing of hospitality services, and revenue enhancement strategies.
- Practical expertise in food & beverage operations, including service standards and menu knowledge.
- Understanding of front office and receptionist duties, including reservations, check-in/check-out, and coordination with other departments.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Prior teaching, training, or academic experience in hospitality or significant industry experience in hotels, resorts, or related sectors.
- Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage a diverse student body.
- Ability to design industry-oriented curricula, use modern teaching methods, and integrate practical case studies and simulations.
- Commitment to student development, ethical practices, teamwork, and continuous professional learning.
