Data Quality / Data Governance Engineer

What this role does

Builds a homegrown, Python-based data quality/governance framework

Implements pre-MDM validation logic — e.g., rule-based checks like "SSN must be 9 digits," flagging records that don't conform, and routing exceptions back to business.

Designs and tags data quality rules in a way that's reusable and framework-driven, similar to how their existing data pipelines were built.





Ideal candidate profile

Robust Python engineering skills (not just a data engineer — ideally a data quality/data modeling + data warehouse engineer background).

Experience building custom data validation/governance frameworks from scratch (vs. configuring an off-the-shelf tool like Informatica or Validator).

Comfortable with a short-term, trial-based engagement to prove fit before scaling up.
