ZEISS India has 3 production facilities, R&D; center, Global IT services and about 40 Sales & Service offices in almost all Tier I and Tier II cities in India. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental legislation.

Participate in reviews of third-party compliance audits in collaboration with site and business unit EH&S; leaders. Maintain an effective EH&S; management system for the site/facility. Develop EH&S; strategy and recommend EH&S; goals and objectives to improve performance for the site.

Ensure that EH&S; risks are assessed, quantified, and prioritized. Direct responsibility for audits and inspections at the site. Deliver EH&S; training to site leaders, business leaders and employees in consultation with business unit EH&S; leaders.

Direct responsibility for EH&S; training at the site. Trend analysis of EH&S; incidents for the India site and advise business unit EH&S; leaders and India leadership team on follow up. Degree in environmental health and safety, health and safety, or a related field.

Prior work experience (at least 8-10 years)



leading a team in a senior H&S; position preferably from Industrial Construction background. Managing and putting into practice Health and Safety management system Should have valuable written & oral communication skills in English, hands-on familiarity with MS Office software packages. Should have good knowledge of safety systems to be followed on construction sites as well as knowledge of safety standards being used on construction sites internationally.

Should have good knowledge of safety control systems like work method statements, job safety analysis, permit-to-work systems, gate-control systems, etc. Should have good knowledge of the rules and regulations / statutory authorities’ requirements on the subject of safety. Should have good man-management skills and apply them strongly at site to get safety systems implemented at site consistently.

Preferably should have worked on time bound industrial projects. Past work experience with PMC/Manufacturing Industries would be an added advantage. Safety qualification from NICMAR, Minimum 1 year duration diploma conducted by state factories rules/ BOCW Central Rules or equivalent would be a definitive preference.
