The Head of Department will be responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership to the assigned department, ensuring effective implementation of the Cambridge curriculum, high standards of teaching and learning, student progress, teacher development, and overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership

- Lead and manage the academic functioning of the assigned department.
- Ensure effective planning, delivery, and implementation of the Cambridge curriculum.
- Ensure curriculum coverage is aligned with prescribed Cambridge frameworks, syllabi, and learning objectives.
- Develop and monitor annual, term-wise, and lesson-level academic plans.
- Ensure appropriate teaching methodologies and differentiated learning practices are followed.
- Monitor student academic progress and identify areas requiring intervention.

1. Teacher Management & Development

- Guide, supervise, and support teachers within the department.
- Allocate subjects, classes, and departmental responsibilities as required.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify training and professional development requirements for teachers.
- Conduct departmental meetings and ensure effective communication of academic requirements.
- Support new teachers in understanding school systems, curriculum requirements, and departmental processes.
- Monitor teacher performance, lesson planning, documentation, and academic deliverables.

1. Assessment & Student Progress

- Develop and monitor assessment plans in accordance with Cambridge requirements and school academic policies.
- Review question papers, assessments, assignments, and other academic resources for quality and alignment.
- Analyse student performance data and prepare appropriate improvement plans.
- Monitor students requiring additional academic support and coordinate suitable interventions.
- Maintain appropriate records of student achievement and departmental performance.

1. Cambridge Curriculum & Academic Standards

- Stay updated with Cambridge curriculum frameworks,



assessment structures, subject requirements, and academic developments.
- Ensure departmental practices remain aligned with Cambridge expectations and school policies.
- Support teachers in implementing Cambridge teaching and assessment approaches.
- Coordinate with academic leadership regarding curriculum changes, examinations, and academic requirements.
- Ensure effective preparation for Cambridge assessments and examinations wherever applicable.

1. Departmental Administration

- Maintain departmental records, academic calendars, lesson plans, assessment schedules, and required documentation.
- Prepare periodic departmental reports for school leadership.
- Monitor completion of academic targets and departmental action plans.
- Coordinate with other HODs and academic coordinators to ensure consistency across departments.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned academic and administrative responsibilities.

1. Student & Parent Engagement

- Address academic concerns raised by students and parents in coordination with teachers and school leadership.
- Support teachers in handling academic and classroom-related concerns.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and provide academic inputs wherever required.
- Encourage student participation in academic activities, competitions, projects, and enrichment programmes.

1. Quality Improvement

- Review departmental performance regularly and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement department-level improvement plans.
- Encourage innovative teaching practices, project-based learning, interdisciplinary learning, and appropriate use of technology.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and academic excellence.




- Share best practices and successful teaching strategies within the department.

Educational Qualification
- Master’s Degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred/required as applicable.
- Additional qualifications or certifications related to Cambridge / International Curriculum will be an advantage.

Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant teaching experience, with prior experience in a leadership or coordination role preferred.
- Experience as HOD / Academic Coordinator / Subject Coordinator will be an advantage.
- Experience in a Cambridge / International Curriculum school is preferred.
- Robust understanding of Cambridge curriculum and assessment practices will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
