The Head of NPD will provide system-level direction across all engineering disciplines — mechanical, electronics, firmware, software, and AI. This is a cross-functional product-development leadership role requiring system-level thinking and broad engineering understanding rather than deep specialisation in one discipline

Responsibilities

1. Lead end-to-end product development from concept through to productisation
2. Translate product and business requirements into technical and system-level requirements
3. Define system architecture and major technology choices for the NPD programme
4. Coordinate mechanical, electronics, firmware, software and AI teams across all projects
5. Maintain a system-level view of the complete product and understand cross-discipline dependencies
6. Drive concept development, prototyping, design reviews, testing and validation cycles
7.



Set development priorities, milestones and technical deliverables for the team
8. Establish reusable architectures, modules and engineering standards across NPD
9. Coordinate external vendors, technology partners and manufacturing teams as required
10. Mentor the engineering team and build a robust product development culture at Aegeus

Qualifications

Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Robotics

12-14 years of experience in similar function

Robotics, automation, industrial or defence product experience

Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams

Concept → Prototype → Testing → Productisation track record
