Our operating model combines accommodation, hospitality, food, housekeeping, facility management and technology-enabled operations across multiple properties. As the business continues to scale, we are strengthening our finance function to build greater visibility, control and commercial discipline across the organisation.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Finance to lead the complete finance function for Elevate Hostels.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Founders, with responsibility across financial planning, controllership, cash flow, budgeting, taxation, compliance, MIS, collections, vendor payments, cost control, property-level financial performance and finance team planning and development.

The role requires someone who understands finance not only from an accounting perspective, but from an operating-business perspective.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in hospitality, co-living, student housing, hotels, serviced apartments or other multi-property operating businesses, with the ability to understand individual property economics, occupancy, revenue, manpower costs, F&B; costs, utilities, rentals and profitability.

The Head of Finance will work closely with the Founders and operating teams to strengthen financial controls, improve profitability, build a capable finance team and provide clear financial visibility for business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the complete Finance & Accounts function, including controllership, FP&A;, taxation, treasury, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning.
- Prepare and review property-wise, city-wise and consolidated P&Ls;.




- Monitor revenue, occupancy, collections, property contribution, EBITDA and key operating costs.
- Build robust monthly MIS and management dashboards for the Founders and leadership team.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships and short- and medium-term liquidity planning.
- Strengthen resident billing, collections, security deposit reconciliation and refund controls.
- Ensure timely vendor payments, vendor reconciliations and strong accounts payable governance.
- Monitor manpower, F&B;, utilities, housekeeping, maintenance and other operating costs across properties.
- Partner with Operations and Procurement teams to identify and implement cost optimisation opportunities.
- Oversee GST, TDS, income tax and other statutory compliances.
- Lead statutory audits, internal audits and financial due diligence.
- Establish and strengthen finance SOPs, internal controls, approval matrices and maker-checker mechanisms.
- Monitor CAPEX and OPEX across existing and upcoming properties.
- Support evaluation of new properties through financial modelling, break-even analysis, ROI, payback and profitability assessment.
- Review landlord commercials, property rentals, revenue-share arrangements and contractual financial obligations.
- Improve financial systems, automation, reporting and integration between operational and accounting platforms.
- Plan the finance organisation structure based on business growth, define roles and responsibilities, identify manpower requirements and build a scalable finance team.
- Recruit, develop and mentor finance team members while establishing clear KRAs, timelines and accountability.




- Establish succession planning and capability development within the finance function.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the Founders on growth, profitability, capital allocation and business planning.

What We’re Looking For

- 10–15 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within hospitality, co-living, student housing, hotels, serviced apartments or another multi-location operating business.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading a Finance & Accounts function.
- Strong understanding of multi-property and unit-level P&Ls.;
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, MIS and cash-flow management.
- Strong understanding of revenue assurance, collections and working-capital management.
- Sound knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation, statutory compliance and audits.
- Experience managing CAPEX, OPEX and cost-control initiatives.
- Solid commercial understanding and ability to connect operational data with financial performance.
- Experience evaluating new locations or properties from a financial and commercial perspective.
- Experience in finance team planning, manpower structuring, hiring and capability development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- High level of ownership, integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Comfortable working directly with Founders and senior leadership.
