Requirement

As the Head of Engineering , you will work closely with the Founders and CTO to execute the company’s technology strategy and take end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery across multiple fintech products. You will convert product requirements and architecture into clear execution plans, lead engineering teams, drive critical fintech integrations, institutionalise AI-assisted development, and ensure high standards of security, scalability, reliability, auditability, and engineering quality.

Core Responsibilities1. Engineering Management & Product Delivery

- Convert the approved architecture, product roadmap, and detailed feature requirements into a clear month-by-month engineering execution plan with milestones, dependencies, and delivery checkpoints.
- Plan the technical roadmap with the Founders and CTO in alignment with business priorities.
- Own delivery across multiple products and ensure engineering teams meet agreed timelines, quality standards, and release goals.
- Run effective sprint planning, estimation, code reviews, definition-of-done, release management, and staged go-lives.
- Lead phased product launches, including prioritised delivery of the Mutual Fund core platform.
- Identify technical, delivery, and resource risks early and drive them to resolution.
- Continuously improve engineering processes, productivity, predictability, and delivery quality.

1. Technology Strategy & Architecture Execution

- Understand and align with the broader business and technology vision set by the Founders and CTO.
- Work closely with the CTO and Architect to translate technology strategy and architecture into executable engineering plans.
- Ensure architecture, design principles, coding standards, and technical practices are implemented consistently across teams.
- Balance long-term scalability and maintainability with short-term product delivery.
- Act as a trusted engineering escalation point for the CTO and Architect.

1. Fintech Integrations

- Own engineering delivery of integrations across the fintech ecosystem, including:
- Stock broking OMS/RMS and back-office platforms such as Kambala, Omnisys, ODIN, RupeeSeed, or equivalent systems.
- Mutual Fund RTA feed engines.
- CAS parsing and portfolio ingestion.
- Accord Fintech or similar market-data providers.
- SETU Account Aggregator.
- MF Central and related investment ecosystem platforms.
- Define reliable integration standards for APIs, authentication, retries, idempotency, reconciliation, error handling, monitoring, and support.
- Work with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure integrations are delivered according to the overall roadmap.




- Support bought-component and third-party integration strategies without compromising security, reliability, or maintainability.

1. AI-Assisted Engineering

- Institutionalise AI-assisted software development as a standard engineering practice.
- Drive AI adoption across coding, refactoring, code reviews, test generation, documentation, debugging, and reconciliation automation.
- Define and measure the productivity multiplier achieved through AI-assisted engineering on a monthly basis.
- Ensure AI tools are used within appropriate security, confidentiality, and engineering-quality standards.

1. Security, Reliability & Multi-Tenant Platform

- Own engineering implementation of non-functional requirements for the multi-tenant white-label platform.
- Ensure strong standards for security, data isolation, auditability, uptime, scalability, performance, reliability, and disaster recovery.
- Ensure appropriate tenant-level isolation and access control across customer and transactional data.
- Support enterprise-grade RBAC and/or ABAC implementation.
- Ensure systems support regulated-domain controls such as:
- Audit trails
- Maker-checker workflows
- Data retention
- Access logging
- Transaction traceability
- Reconciliation
- Collaborate with relevant teams to achieve required security certifications and maintain strong security practices across applications and integrations.

1. Engineering Quality & Documentation

- Establish and maintain strong coding, review, testing, deployment, and release standards.
- Ensure applications are scalable, secure, maintainable, testable, and production-ready.
- Drive automation across testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows.
- Lead code-level and module-level documentation by example.
- Ensure APIs, workflows, integrations, dependencies, and operational procedures are properly documented.
- Identify and manage technical debt in a structured manner.

1. People Management

- Hire, mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team.
- Lead and support a team of approximately 8–15 engineers across relevant engineering functions.
- Conduct regular 1:1s and provide clear feedback, coaching, and growth opportunities.
- Identify skill gaps and arrange appropriate mentoring, training,



or hiring.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, learning, and engineering excellence.
- Act as the escalation point for major technical and delivery challenges.

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Product, Architecture, Design, Security, Operations, Data, Compliance, and Business teams.
- Communicate engineering progress, risks, dependencies, and major technical decisions clearly to leadership.
- Ensure engineering execution remains aligned with business and product priorities.
- Support company-wide policies and contribute to creating a productive and collaborative work environment.

Expected Skills
- Strong technical expertise in backend engineering, APIs, distributed systems, databases, and third-party integrations.
- Experience with popular technology stacks; C#, .Net Core, Micro Services, Redis, Rabbit/MSMQ, Kafka, MS SQL/PostgreSQL.
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS and/or GCP .
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, release management, and production operations.
- Working fluency with AI coding and testing tools as a team-wide engineering practice.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and delivery-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to plan strategically while executing aggressively in the short term.
- Solid mentoring and coaching capabilities.

Qualifications & Background
- 8–12 years of overall software engineering experience .
- 3+ years of engineering management experience leading multiple developers or engineering teams.
- Proven experience delivering and operating at least one multi-module fintech, transactional B2B, or B2C platform end-to-end .
- Demonstrated delivery leadership of approximately 8–15 engineers under aggressive, staged timelines.
- Experience working in high-growth startup environments.
- Experience working with regulated or control-heavy platforms requiring security, auditability, data retention, and transaction traceability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good to Have
- Experience in wealth management, stock broking, mutual funds, investment platforms, or capital-markets technology.
- Exposure to RTA feeds, CAS processing, exchange rails, OMS/RMS, back-office systems, and reconciliation.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS and white-label platforms.
- Experience implementing enterprise-grade RBAC and/or ABAC.
- Experience integrating vendor-provided or purchased components into a larger technology platform.
