Role & responsibilities

Greenfield Project Execution & Plant Setup

- Lead end-to-end plant establishment: land development, layout finalization, civil construction, utilities, and statutory approvals.
- Ensure project delivery within budget, timeline, and scope (CAPEX control is critical).
- Drive equipment selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning aligned with Honda standards.
- Develop future-ready plant layout (lean flow, scalability, automation readiness).
- Coordinate with corporate, consultants, and Honda stakeholders during project phases

Customer Alignment (Honda) Strategic Accountability
- Act as the primary interface with Honda for project readiness and operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to Honda’s QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) expectations.
- Lead APQP, PPAP, and customer approvals for new product lines.
- Build zero-defect culture aligned with Honda’s quality philosophy (no compromise mindset).
- Ensure audit readiness (customer, process, system audits) at all times.

Manufacturing Excellence & Operational Readiness
- Establish robust production systems before SOP (Start of Production).
- Drive capacity planning and line balancing for demand fulfillment.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Kaizen culture from day one.
- Ensure high OEE, minimal downtime, and optimal productivity.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all processes.

Quality Systems & Compliance
- Build and institutionalize end-to-end quality systems (IATF 16949 readiness).
- Ensure process capability (Cp/Cpk), poka-yoke, and error-proofing mechanisms.




- Drive zero customer complaints / PPM reduction strategy.
- Lead root cause analysis culture (8D, Why-Why, Fishbone).
- Ensure regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

Supply Chain & Vendor Development
- Develop robust supplier ecosystem aligned with Honda’s expectations.
- Ensure timely material availability for pilot and mass production.
- Drive supplier quality assurance and cost optimization initiatives.
- Implement just-in-time (JIT) / milk run logistics where applicable.
- Manage inventory optimization and working capital efficiency.

Cost Management & Profitability
- Own plant P&L; responsibility from pre-SOP to stabilization phase.
- Drive cost competitiveness vs benchmarks (especially for OEM like Honda).
- Ensure budget adherence and cost control during project and operations.
- Lead value engineering and localization initiatives.
- Optimize manpower, utilities, and material costs.

Team Building & Organizational Capability
- Build the entire plant team from ground up (hiring, onboarding, structuring).
- Develop robust middle management and shopfloor leadership.
- Drive skill development, training systems, and competency mapping.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable, and disciplined culture.
- Ensure strong industrial relations (IR) and harmonious workforce environment.

Digitalization & Systems Implementation
- Implement ERP/MES systems for plant operations.
- Drive data-driven decision-making (dashboards, KPIs).
- Enable Industry 4.0 readiness (automation, traceability, IoT where relevant).
- Ensure real-time production and quality monitoring systems.
