Role Description The Head Librarian is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and daily operations of the institute’s library and information services. This full-time, on-site role is based in the Pune Division and involves managing print and digital collections, supervising cataloging and metadata activities, and ensuring efficient access to academic resources for learners and faculty.

Librarian will lead library staff, establish policies and procedures, and coordinate reference and instructional services that support the PGDM curriculum and research activities.



The role includes collaborating with faculty to integrate library resources into coursework, organizing orientations and workshops, monitoring budgets and subscriptions, and maintaining a user-centered, technology-enabled learning setting.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong expertise in Library Science and Library Management for overseeing collections, staff, policies, and systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Library Services and Library Instruction to support research needs, reference assistance, and learner/faculty training.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Metadata and cataloging standards to ensure accurate resource organization and efficient discovery.
- Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Science (or equivalent) from a recognized institution is preferred.
- Experience in managing academic or higher education libraries, including digital resources and e-databases, is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and learners.
- Comfort with library technologies, integrated library systems, and digital repository tools; familiarity with research methodologies is an advantage.
