Role Description The Head Engineer is a full time, on-site leadership role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing all engineering activities across product development, manufacturing, and operations. This role involves planning and managing engineering projects, setting technical standards, and ensuring that systems, equipment, and processes operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

The Head

Engineer will lead and mentor the engineering team, coordinate with design, production, and quality functions, and resolve complex technical issues as they arise. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing technical designs, optimizing production workflows, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing improvements in line with company goals and regulatory requirements. The role also includes vendor and stakeholder coordination, budget oversight for engineering initiatives, and contributing to long-term technology and infrastructure strategy.





Qualifications

- Strong leadership and team management abilities, including experience guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
- Proficiency in core engineering principles relevant to manufacturing or product development (such as mechanical, production, or industrial engineering), with a track record of solving complex technical problems.
- Experience in project planning and execution, including resource allocation, timeline management, risk assessment, and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capability in process optimization, quality improvement, and implementation of safety and compliance standards within an engineering or production setting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills to present technical information clearly and support decision-making at management level.
- Comfort using engineering and productivity tools (e.g., CAD or relevant design software, data analysis tools, and project management systems).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or related discipline) from an accredited institution; advanced qualifications or professional certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a senior engineering or plant/head-of-engineering role, preferably within lifestyle products, consumer goods, or related manufacturing industries.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and adapt to a dynamic environment with evolving operational and business priorities.
