Role Overview

We are seeking a senior, enterprise-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Industrial Maintenance and Engineering Services to drive standardization, transformation, and excellence across all UDS-managed facilities.

This is not a site-based role. The incumbent will function as a central technical leader, responsible for reviewing, redesigning, and implementing best-in-class engineering practices, while leading automation, digitization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical SME & Governance (UDS-wide)

Act as the central SME for industrial maintenance and engineering services across all UDS facilities.

Establish,review, and standardize technical frameworks, SOPs, and maintenance strategies.

Drive adoption of best practices across electrical, mechanical, and utility systems.

Conduct periodic technical audits, benchmarking, and gap assessments across sites.

2. Process Transformation & Best Practices

Revisit and redesign all existing O&M; processes, workflows, and service delivery models.

Implement industry best practices in:

Preventive & predictive maintenance

Reliability engineering (MTBF, MTTR optimization)

Asset lifecycle management

Standardize documentation, reporting formats, and governance mechanisms across all locations.

3. Automation & Digital Transformation

Lead organization-wide initiatives in:

Maintenance automation

Digital platforms (CMMS, IoT, predictive analytics, remote monitoring)

Drive adoption and optimization of systems such as:

SAP PM / Maximo / other CMMS tools

IoT-enabled asset monitoring solutions

Develop data-driven decision frameworks using dashboards and analytics.

Champion a smart maintenance ecosystem aligned with Industry 4.0 principles.

4. Multi-Site Technical Leadership

Provide technical oversight and guidance to site teams across multiple locations.

Support complex problem-solving and critical breakdown resolution.

Client Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a technical advisor to key clients and internal stakeholders.

Participate in strategic client discussions, audits, and reviews.

Support business development teams with technical inputs and solutioning.

6. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

Ensure all sites adhere to:

Statutory regulations

Electrical & mechanical safety standards

EHS policies

Drive a zero-incident safety culture through proactive risk identification.

Conduct enterprise-level safety and compliance audits.

7. Vendor, Cost & Performance Optimization

Define vendor standards, evaluate AMC partners, and optimize service delivery models.

Drive cost optimization without compromising reliability and safety.

Establish KPI-driven performance management frameworks across sites.

Key Requirements

Education

Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

Advanced certifications (preferred)

CMRP / PMP / Six Sigma / NEBOSH

Experience

- 15-20 years of experience in:
- Industrial maintenance / engineering services
- Facilities management / O&M; environments
- Proven experience in:
- Multi-site or regional leadership roles
- Process transformation and standardization
- Automation / digital initiatives in maintenance.
- Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in:
- Electrical systems (HT/LT, DG, UPS, transformers)
- Mechanical systems (HVAC, compressors, utilities)
- Reliability engineering & asset management
- Hands-on experience with:
- CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, etc.)
- Digital/IoT-based maintenance solutions.
- Drive a strong culture of innovation with a strategic focus on automation and digital transformation across all engineering services.
