GIS LEAD

Role Purpose

Own and drive GTPL's GIS and Network Intelligence function, creating a single, accurate and actionable digital view of the broadband network—from POP and backbone to distribution network, OLT/ONT and customer connectivity.

The role will be responsible for improving GIS accuracy, network visibility, planning and field operations through automation, data integration and technology enhancement, while driving the evolution of the GIS platform to support GTPL's future network requirements.

Brief Definition

1. GIS Platform Ownership

Own the GIS platform, roadmap, architecture, data quality and functional evolution in line with GTPL's network and business requirements.
1. Network Mapping & Intelligence

Build accurate end-to-end visibility of POP, backbone, fiber routes, OLTs, distribution network, ONTs and customer connectivity through GIS.
1. Network Planning & Design

Use GIS to improve network planning, route planning, capacity planning, expansion decisions and deployment accuracy.
1. Field Operations Enablement

Enable field teams with accurate network maps, asset locations, route information and digital workflows to improve deployment, fault resolution and customer experience.
1. GIS & Network Operations Integration

Integrate GIS with relevant network, provisioning, inventory and service-assurance systems to create a unified operational view.
1. GIS Automation

Identify and implement automation opportunities across mapping, network updates, asset management, planning and field workflows, reducing manual intervention and errors.
1. Data Governance & Accuracy

Establish ownership, standards and processes for GIS data quality, validation,



reconciliation and timely updates from network and field activities.
1. GPSTEK GIS & Technology Roadmap

Evaluate and drive the enhancement of the existing GPSTEK GIS capabilities, identify functional gaps and define the roadmap for future GIS/network intelligence requirements.
1. Network Visibility & Digital Twin Readiness

Develop the GIS foundation required for comprehensive network visibility and future digital-twin/network intelligence capabilities.
1. Vendor & Technology Management

Work with GIS technology partners and vendors, evaluate solutions, manage technical requirements and ensure technology investments deliver measurable operational value.
1. GIS Team & Stakeholder Management

Lead the GIS team and work closely with NOC, Network Planning, Field Operations, IT, Provisioning, Service Assurance and Business teams to translate operational requirements into GIS solutions.

Ideal Candidate

- Experienced in GIS, preferably in telecom / ISP / FTTH / utility network environments.
- Robust experience in telecom GIS and fiber network mapping.
- Experience working with network planning and field operations.
- Strong understanding of fiber networks, POPs, OLTs, ONTs, FDT/FAT/FDH and distribution networks.
- Experience with GIS platforms and spatial databases.
- Experience in GIS integration with operational/IT systems.
- Strong understanding of GIS data governance and network data quality.
- Exposure to GIS automation and API/system integration.
- Experience managing GIS vendors and technology partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to work across NOC, Network Planning, Field Operations, IT and Service Assurance.
