Reports to: GM, International Markets The role The client is a leading Consumer AI Edtech startup, building a GenAI-powered English-speaking app that helps millions of users across Tier 1, 2, and 3 Indian cities build spoken English confidence through real-time AI conversations. They are backed by $20M.
This is a true 0-to-1 mandate. There is no existing international playbook, agency roster, creator network, or brand recognition in any of these markets — you will build all of it.
What you'll own
– Market-entry playbook — develop a point of view on what already works in English-learning content in each market, and build market-specific playbooks through iterative learning.
– Budget allocation — own the marketing budget and ROAS performance across geographies.
– Team building — build a lean team of performance and organic marketers, plus marketing ops, to support the roadmap and execution.
– Attribution and measurement — build the attribution infrastructure and incrementality testing framework, ensuring every rupee of spend is traceable.
– Agency and partner relationships — hire local partners or full time hires in specific markets and own those relationships, with international travel as needed.
What we're looking for
– Must-have — experience launching and scaling a consumer tech/AI product in a market whose language you do not speak (1–2 years minimum). Edtech or Consumer AI experience is a plus.
– Experience in 0-to-1 or 1-to-10 stage, early- or growth-stage startups.
– Hands-on ownership of Meta, Google, and TikTok marketing at meaningful scale.
– Experience working with organic growth marketers and UGC through creators and influencers.
– Experience managing a team of performance and organic marketers.
– A data-first approach — comfortable owning attribution metrics such as LTV/CAC, ROAS, CPI/CPM, and TOMA.
