Role Objective:

Key objective of this role is to lead the group's accounting, taxation, audit and compliance function across all Indian and overseas entities of Biotech Healthcare Group, ensuring robust financial processes and strong internal controls.

The role is responsible for delivering a clean, reconciled trial balance every month across all subsidiaries; preparing quarterly consolidated financial statements; owning the annual statutory audit with Big 4 auditors; building a robust internal audit and internal financial controls (IFC) framework, including plant and operational process audits; and ensuring full global regulatory and tax compliance.

The position will lead a team of ~20 across accounts, taxation and internal audit, and will serve as the company's key interface with statutory and internal auditors, tax consultants and government revenue departments (Income Tax, GST, FEMA and Customs), ensuring a clean compliance track record for the group.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

Minimum:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

Desirable:

- Additional certification in IFRS (e.g. DipIFR) or Internal Audit / Controls (e.g. CIA, CISA).

Experience Requirement

Minimum:

- 12–15 years of post-qualification experience in accounts, taxation, audit and compliance.
- Experience of handling Big 4 statutory audits from the company side – audit readiness, schedules, queries and timely sign-off.
- Experience of managing financial processes across subsidiaries – timely accounting, monthly closure with clean trial balance and preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements (P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP experience.

Desirable:

- Big 4 background – trained at a Big 4 firm.
- Experience in a multi-entity manufacturing group, preferably in pharma / healthcare / medical devices.
- Exposure to overseas group entities and global / group-level compliance.

Role Requirements

- Strong experience in group accounting, monthly close and consolidation across multiple entities.
- Deep working knowledge of Companies Act, Ind AS / IFRS, GST, TDS, Income Tax, EXIM, FEMA and Customs, along with IFC requirements.




- Hands-on experience in internal audit, internal financial controls and plant / operational process audits in a manufacturing environment to identify leakages and gaps.
- Proven experience of dealing with government revenue departments – tax assessments, scrutiny notices, appeals, hearings and refunds.
- Track record of automating controls and processes in SAP.
- Strong team leadership, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work with auditors, consultants, authorities and senior management.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Deliver a clean, reconciled trial balance for every group entity and subsidiary each month.
2. Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for the group (P&L;, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) in line with Ind AS / IFRS.
3. Lead financial processes across the group – timely accounting, process controls, a standardised close calendar, reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
4. Own the group's annual statutory audit with Big 4 auditors end to end – audit readiness, schedules, queries and timely sign-off.
5. Build a robust internal audit programme with the in-house Internal Audit team and externally appointed auditors; strengthen internal financial controls (IFC) and close audit findings on time.
6. Roll out uniform internal audit standards and checks across all group entities.
7. Automate all major controls across the group in SAP to ensure there are no leakages.
8. Conduct plant and operational process audits across manufacturing facilities to identify leakages, gaps and inefficiencies, and drive corrective actions to closure.
9. Ensure full compliance with Companies Act, Ind AS / IFRS, GST, TDS, Income Tax, EXIM, FEMA and Customs across the group.
10. Manage tax audits and assessments, both direct and indirect.

Oversee compliance of overseas group entities in coordination with local advisors.
12. Represent the company before Income Tax, GST, FEMA and Customs authorities for assessments, scrutiny notices, appeals, hearings and refunds; coordinate with tax consultants and counsel, and maintain a clean track record with the departments.
13. Lead, develop and review the accounts, taxation and internal audit team, building capability and succession cover for key positions.
14. Report key compliance, audit and financial-close status to the Financial Controller and senior management on a regular basis.

Functional Skills Required

- In-depth knowledge of group accounting, monthly close, intercompany accounting and consolidation.
- Expertise in statutory audit management with Big 4 auditors.
- Strong understanding of Companies Act, Ind AS / IFRS, GST, TDS, Income Tax, EXIM, FEMA and Customs requirements.
- Expertise in internal audit, IFC design and testing, and plant / operational process audits.
- Experience in handling tax assessments, notices, appeals and refunds with revenue departments.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) and automation of controls and processes.

Team Size to be Handled:

- ~20 team members, including 3–4 Chartered Accountants, across accounts, taxation and internal audit. Reporting to the Financial Controller.
