About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Game Designer specializing in board game reasoning to join our client's dynamic team as a Board Game Reasoning Expert (AI Training & Evaluation). This is a full-time, remote position that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. The primary focus of this role is to aid in training and evaluating next-generation artificial intelligence models through the development and assessment of complex board game scenarios.

You will leverage your expertise in game mechanics, strategic reasoning, probability, and rule systems to create high-quality datasets that enhance AI performance. Your work will directly influence the development of smarter, more capable AI systems that can understand and reason about complex strategic environments.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, cognitive science, game design, philosophy, economics,



or a related analytical discipline.
- At least two years of professional or semi-professional experience in board game design, playtesting, or within tabletop game communities, especially in strategy-focused environments.
- Strong understanding of logic, probabilistic reasoning, game mechanics, and complex rule systems.
- Background knowledge in game theory, behavioral economics, decision science, or formal logic.
- Excellent written communication skills to document evaluation results, create guidelines, and develop detailed datasets.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at improving AI reasoning capabilities through strategic game analysis:

- Create and review game-based reasoning tasks designed to evaluate AI systems' understanding and decision-making abilities.
- Analyze diverse board game scenarios, strategic decision trees, and rule-based systems to develop comprehensive datasets.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for correctness, logical consistency, and reasoning quality, providing detailed feedback.
- Develop prompts, rubrics, and evaluation guidelines specifically tailored to board game and strategy-related tasks.
- Identify logical errors,



rule violations, and flawed reasoning within AI outputs, contributing to benchmark creation and dataset refinement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance dataset quality and evaluation methodologies, ensuring alignment with project goals.
